A few more weeks passed by, and George and I had become the closest we had in the time we had known each other. Even when Angelina tried to pull him away from me, he would not leave my side.

We are currently sat by the black lake just talking. "So, are you excited for Christmas, it's only a few weeks away?" he asked. "Yeah, what's not to be excited about sitting in my empty apartment on my own for two weeks!" I replied sarcastically

He whipped his head around to face me. "What? I thought you were coming to the burrow? Like you always do?"

I shook my head. "Angelina is going to be there and I don't want to bring any trouble by me being there to"

"y/n your basically family and I'm not letting you sit in an empty apartment on your own." he warned.

"I'll be fine George" I tried to reassure him.

"Then I'll come and stay with you for Christmas" he fired back.

"No, you will not! Molly will kill you if you're not with your family at Christmas" I said looking at him.

"Then it should be you she's killing" he smirked back

"How so?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Like I've already told you, your basically family, you should be with us"

I smiled at his words quickly but then shook my head. I will always be forever thankful to the Weasley's. They took me in as one of their own when my parents passed away a couple of years ago.

"I still won't be coming"

"y/n please? I can't stand the thought of being on your own for all the holidays"

I sighed. "How about I come stay for the last couple of days of the holidays? Will that make you happy?" I said looking at him.

"Not really but it's better than nothing" he said pushing my shoulder.

I rested my head on his shoulder as we looked out to the lake. "you'll have to give my apologies to your mam for me" I mumbled. "Mam won't be happy knowing your all on your own" he replied. "I'll write her a letter and reassure her I'll be okay" I said squeezing his hand that was currently rested on my knee.

"Oh, so you're going to write to my mam but not me" he said dramatically holding a hand to his chest. "How could you?!" he said pretending to be hurt by my words.

"Shut up" I pushed his head "Of course I'll write to you, your numpty"

"You bloody better" he said hitting my arm.

"On second thoughts..." I trailed off smirking

"Don't you dear" he warned me as he tried to hold back a laugh, but he could not. He burst out laughing which then caused me to also laugh to.

"Of course, I'm going to write to you, besides ill have Christmas presents to send to you and your mam and dad" I said smiling at him now that we had stopped laughing.

"Can you believe we've only got a year left here and then were finished Hogwarts and we can use magic outside of school whenever we want?" George asked chuckling

"You're forgetting I can already use magic and I can use apperation but no I can't believe we only have a year left here" I said turning and glancing to the school.

"Omg yes! I always forget your older than me. Wait that means you can apperate to the burrow at the end of the holidays" he said getting quite excited. "Omg you could take us for a day out to Hogsmeade or something."

I just chuckled at him "God I think I'm friends with 7-year-old George again"

"But you wouldn't have it any other way" he smirked knowing he was right. I nodded my head at him in response.

"Besides I'm your only friend" he joked

"Are not!" I said defending myself even though I knew it was a joke.

The rest of the afternoon was spent talking, some about when we were younger and the rest George trying to convince me to spend all the holidays with him. He did eventually give up when he knew there was no changing my mind.

"We better head back curfew is soon and I'm cold" I said as we stood up from the tree we had been resting against. "Here, takes my jumper" he held it out in front of me. "No, it's okay were going back to the castle now anyway" I pushed it back towards him. "No! put it on" he said putting it in my arms. "George we'll be back at the castle in a few minutes, it's okay" I passed it back to him, but he would not take no for an answer and so instead physically pulled over my head. I sighed in defeat and pulled my arms in.

"There that's better" He linked my arm as he said it and then we headed back inside. When we got to the common room Fred gave us a questioning look as I went to pass George his jumper back. "You keep it. It fits and looks better on you anyway" he smiled. We gave each other a hug and then both went our separate ways to bed.

That night I went to bed with a smile on my face.
