Chapter 44

Battle of Hogwarts may 2nd 1998

It had been a long few month's since me and the twins had moved to the burrow for safety. Every day it had just been me, the twins, Molly, Lupin, Tonks, and Arthur when he wasn't at the ministry. And even though we hadn't properly left the burrow for weeks we all knew the wizarding world was getting darker and darker. There was an earie feeling in the air and we had all known it would not be long and that we would soon have to fight side by side.  

Early hours of May 2nd, 1998, 00:18 am.

None of us had been very settled after receiving news that the trio had been spotted in Hogsmeade. We all sat anxiously waiting in the den of the burrow. Waiting to be called upon any minute now. As I sat my leg was bouncing up and down with nerves and George must have noticed as he placed his hand on my leg to stop it from moving. When I made eye contact with him, he said "Hey it's going to okay" I only nodded in response not wanting to say anything.

Another 30 minuets passed by when Lupin entered the room. "It's time" were the two words that left his mouth. At his words George gripped my hand tightly and I gripped his back just as tight. We all looked at each other one last time before leaving the house in dead silence as we walked to the apperating point. "Remember to hide in the ally way when you land" Remus said taking a hold of Tonks hand. We all nodded as they disappeared and then Molly and Arthur after them.  

We all looked at each other taking a deep breath before both twins grabbed a hold of my hands ready to apperate. I closed my eyes picturing where we needed to go and then held onto their hands tighter before disappearing from the spot we were on. Seconds later we were in Hogsmeade, quickly moving to the ally way where the others were waiting.

It wasn't long before we were moving down a secret passageway that led you into the castle. "Hey this wasn't here before; it wasn't even on the map!" Fred whispered to me and George. "It must have been created after we left" I replied to Fred. As we neared the entrance of the castle the surroundings began to change as I realised it was the room of requirement, we were now standing in. It was filled with rows of sleeping bags and hammocks which suggested that people had been living in the room for some time.

I then spotted a crowd of people surrounding something or should I say someone's. It was Harry, Ron and Hermione. The three of them looked extremely tired and worn out.

"So, what's the plan Harry?" Neville asked speaking up as more people gathered around to listen up.

Harry took a deep breath, "Okay there's something we need to find. Something hidden here in the castle, and it may help us defeat you-know-who."

"Right" Neville paused briefly "What is it?" he asked.

"We don't know" Harry said looking down from everyone's eyes.

"Where is it?" asked Dean Thomas.

"We don't know what either" Harry said really fast. "I realise that's not much to go on" he continued.

"That's nothing to go on!" Seamus Finnigan said.

"I think it has something to do with Ravenclaw – um it'll be small, easily concealed? Anyone have any ideas?" Harry asked. 

The was a long pause until Luna spoke up "Well there's Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem" "Lost diadem of Raven claw? Hasn't anyone heard of it? It's quite famous"

"Yes, but Luna its lost, for centuries now. There isn't a person alive today who's seen it" Cho said from next to her.

As Cho was explaining what a diadem was to Ron a set of footsteps could be heard running toward the group causing everyone to part to the sides, revealing Ginny.

"What is it Ginny?" Neville asked.

"Snape knows, he knows that Harry was spotted in Hogsmeade." Ginny said as she was interrupted by an announcement calling the students of Hogwarts to the great hall. 

It seemed Harry had produced an idea as is eyes lit up before he quickly spoke to Lupin who nodded at whatever Harry had told him. Lupin asked the order to follow him from the room as he explained what harry was going to do. Ron and Hermione also came with us, Harry however did not confusing us all but Lupin insisted he knew what he was doing and we just needed to wait till we were needed.
