Chapter 45

Battle of Hogwarts may 2nd 1998

When we finally stopped walking we had stopped outside of the doors of the great hall. We could hear the faint voice of Snape talking. Whilst we waited it gave Ron a chance to catch up with is family and I had time to catch up with Hermione. We both looked at each other before embracing into a tight hug. We had not seen each other since the wedding and that was ten months ago. "I'm so glad you're okay" I told her. "It's so good to see you again" I said. "You too" said Hermione as she pulled away. We continued to chat with each other as the others were still catching up.

Suddenly there was a loud gasp coming from the hall before Harry's voice could be heard.

"It seems despite your exhaustive defensive strategies you still have a bit of a security problem headmaster" This was our que to get into position as the hall doors swung open revealing us, the order to the rest of the school. We all marched in, Kingsley leading up at the front.

"I'm afraid it's quite extensive"

"How dare you stand where he stood!"

"Tell them how it happened that night, tell them how you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you and killed him" Harry raised his voice shouting at Snape.

"Tell them" He repeated.

Snape quickly raised his wand about to cast a spell at Harry, but Harry was pushed out of the way by Professor McGonagall who now also had her wand raised pointing back at Snape. She was protecting Harry even if it meant duelling with a man, she once considered a friend. All of us part of the order raised our own wands too. After a moment of staring each other down McGonagall fired the first spell at Snape who simply blocked it. The duel continued as McGonagall moved forward, backing Snape into the steps at the front of the hall as he continued to block her spells. Snape eventually took off, smashing himself through the window sending the great hall into a huge cheer. The order let out a sigh of relief as I felt George squeeze my hand.

However, the cheers were cut short by a voice.

"Harry" the voice hissed and then there was silence before a piercing scream cut through the hall. Everyone began turning their heads as they looked around to see where the scream came from. One by one more people started screaming as we watched harry walk around to find one of the girls.

"I know that many of you will want to fight, some of you may even think that to fight is wise, but this is false."

"Give me Harry potter, do this and non shall be harmed"

"Give me Harry potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched!"

"Give me Harry potter and you will be rewarded!"

"You have one hour" The voice of he who shall not me named spoke.

The whole hall went silent as everyone turned to look at him.

" what are you waiting for? Someone grab him!" The high-pitched voice of pansy Parkinson called alerting everyone in the hall. Ginny Weasley was the first one to step forward and stand in front of Harry to defend him, followed by the rest of the order who stood forward one by one, with the wands raised. A tension had been built between the two sides as they stared off at each other like they're were in a staring competition.

"Students out of bed!, students in the corridors" The voice of filch yelled as he ran into the hall causing everyone to turn and look at him.

"they're supposed to be out of bed you blithering idiot" said professor Mcgonagall.

"Oh" was all filch could say as his face dropped.

" but as it happens your arrival is actually useful, please Escort the slathering's from the hall" she said.

"And where to ma'am?" Asked filch.

" The dungeons will do" said Professor McGonagall, causing the hall to explode with applause as filch began to lead them away.

"Now I presume there is a reason for your return potter?" Said McGonagall as she faced the boy. Harry nodded in response.

"Time professor, as much as you can get me" replied Harry. McGonagall nodded and Harry turned around quickly to head off to where ever he needed to go.

With Harry, Hermione and Ron off to do what they needed to do, the rest of us when then sent off to our stations just like it had been planned. We had all been sent off in pairs, George was sent to go with his father and I had been partnered with Fred.

"Please stay safe!" George pleaded as we embrace in a very tight hug. It was very clear we were both scared even if we didn't actually say the words. I nodded into the crook of his neck, not wanting to use my own words before I pulled away. Fred and George then hugged each other with George whispering something to Fred that I couldn't actually make out what he said but Fred replied with "Of course brother" whilst patting him on the shoulder.

A/n : So erm I may or may not have forgotten about this book, last time I up dated was September 2021, not even sure why I forgot about it but I did and I'm going to try and finish it off now I've found my way back to it again !!
