The next few weeks flew by, and it was now the holidays...

The train had just pulled in at Kings Cross Station. I quickly got off and used a spell to shrink down my trunk before placing it in my bag with its undetectable extension charm.

As I was about to exit the station to find somewhere to apperate George's voice shouted my name. "Hey y/n wait!" I turned to look at him as he ran to me. "Have a good holiday and make sure you write to me yeah?" he said pulling me into a hug. I nodded into his shoulder.

"Wait where is your trunk?" he asked raising his eyebrow. I lifted my bag that was hanging on my shoulder. "No, I mean your trunk". I smiled at him "It's in here" I pointed to the bag again. "What? how?" he questioned. "Magic" I wiggled my eyebrows.

"Damn it, I totally forgot you can use magic. I can't wait to be 17 in April " he smiled

"Right well I better get going" I told him.

Georges POV...

Once we arrived back home everyone went off to their rooms to unpack. I never said a single word to Fred, I just quickly unpacked and then headed downstairs to see if mam needed any help. I spent the afternoon helping her prepare dinner.

When dinner time came the tension between me, and Fred was becoming increasingly obvious to everyone else. "So how come y/n isn't stopping for the holidays?" Ginny asked. I looked up sending a glare to Fred. "I don't know" Fred shrugged even though he did.

"George? do you know" mam asked turning to me. I nodded my head, "I do as it goes." She nodded for me to go on. "It's Fred's fault she's not here" I turned to Fred who was mouthing 'don't tell her 'To me.

"What do you mean?" mam exclaimed. "You see when Fred and Angelina started dating, Angelina had some terms for them to keep dating. She told Fred that y/n would have to stop hanging around with Fred and me." I told my mum who was starting to look quite upset. I continued ", and you know because y/n is such a good friend she respected Fred's choice to agree to Angelina's terms, so she spent weeks avoiding me and not talking to me to keep Fred happy", "she told me she didn't want to come in between me and Fred not after Angelina threatened her"

"So that's why she hasn't come for the holidays?" Ron spoke up a disgusted look across his face just like the rest of the people in the room now had too. I nodded my head "She told me she knew Angelina was going to be coming at some point and she didn't want to be the reason there was any trouble"

"You mean to tell me that y/n is all on her own for Christmas?" Mam asked a worried look across her face. "I tried convincing her for weeks to come but she wouldn't" I explained to her. As we were talking an owl flew into the room from the open window and dropped two letters, one was addressed to me and the other to mam.

I quickly pulled open the letter and read it.

Dear George,

I am just writing to let you know that I got home fine and to wish you and everyone else a happy Christmas. I hope you all enjoy your holidays and have lots of fun. I will see you when I come soon. So please do not worry about me! (I have written to your mam too, sending my apologies, please tell her I am sorry again)

love y/n

"Who's it from?" Ginny asked, "Is it y/n?" I nodded and passed her over the letter to read. The letter was passed around to everyone except Fred.

"Well at least she's coming to see you George at some point" Ron pointed out. "Yeah, and she can apperate here to" I smirked to Ron and Ginny as we continue to talk but then I glanced over to mam, and I could see the upset look on her face.

I stood up and followed her into the kitchen. "Mam are you okay?" she turned and looked at me, "I just can stand the fact that y/n is all on her own.". "Me too mam, I tried so hard to convince her to come but you and I both know how stubborn she can be" I said letting out a little chuckle as mam did too. "I can't argue with that" she said.

"She is just a stubborn as her mother was"

"I know" I smiled.

"I'll be having words with her when she does come, she should be us, we're her family" she smiled

"That's exactly what I told her!" I replied as I gave mam a hug.
