*Olivia's Pov*
"Babe are you sure you want me to pull over?" Claire asked Johnny, as she drove us through the abandoned vehicles on the freeway.
"I'm sure." Johnny replied kinda sounding not so sure but still a bit confident. Claire didn't say anything back, as she led us up the ramp, parking us in a CVS pharmacy parking lot. We all watched as the RV pulled in front of us and parked some feet back giving us room to meet in the middle.
"Wait here, I'm going to talk to them." Johnny ordered.
"No wait, l..let me come with you." I demanded. He looks deep in my eyes trying to catch a clue of why I wanted to go with him. "Just incase you need back up." He looks around at all of us and sighs.
"Okay, we'll see what they want then." I nod. We both get out and close our doors behind us. We stand in front of the car waiting for someone to get out of the RV.
The door flies open and I instantly place my hand on my knife holstered on my side. A brown hand with a sliver watch on it's wrist pokes out of the door.
"I am armed, but I will not pull out my weapon unless you draw yours on me first. We mean no harm unless you mean harm to us. We just want to talk. Now that being said, I'm stepping out." The mystery man announced to us with a deep voice.
Johnny and I look at each other then back to him. He makes his way towards us, and I can't help but notice that the man has to be around the height that David was. He's wearing some blue jeans with dark blue and white flannel button up shirt, covering his white t-shirt. He's bald but his face wasn't. He has a long black bushy beard connecting with his mustache.
"That's far enough, we can talk from here." Johnny told the man. He stopped about a few feet ahead of us giving us some space.
"First off, I want to say it's really good to actually see people my daughter age still alive. I can't imagine how hard it's been for you guys, growing up in this cruel world."
"You're right it has been hard, but we're not kids anymore. We've had a rough few days, and none of us want to carry on with a horrible week. We want this encounter to go as peaceful as can be. So who are you and how many are of you are their?" I asked the man.
"I'm Mark. I'm with my daughter, and two other friends we met on the road. What about you guys?"
"I'm Johnny and this is my friend Olivia. We're traveling with my wife and some friends we met in this hell."
"Where are you guys coming from?" Mark asked.
"Texas, what about you?" I answered.
"From here actually. We got a message on our radio in morse code, so we were going to go check it out, until we seen you guys." Mark informed us.
Johnny and I glance at each other knowing exactly what he's talking about. We look back at him simultaneously and he chuckles.
"I'm guessing you guys were on you're way there as well?"
"We are actually." Johnny answered. "We know who sent the message and what Phoenix is, they're dangerous pieces of shit. And if you want you and your people to live I advise not going."
"Look I appreciate you guys looking out for me and my people. But by the sound of what I heard from you and you're friend on the radio. It seems like you're gonna need all the help you can get. Besides judging from what ever that protocol Titan is, it sounds like something we don't want to be completed."
"One moment please." Johnny said while pulling me to the side.
"What do you think?" I asked Johnny. He sighs.
"I think we should all meet, then head out to save Dylan. Only if we could trust them. I don't want to pour any trust in and get stabbed in the back or worse by them."
"I was thinking the same thing. But we have to remember, there's more of us than them, so if we have too we'll know what to do. Just hopefully it doesn't have to come to that." Johnny puts a hand through his hair, takes a breath, and nods. We head back over to Mark.
"You seem like a pretty nice guy. We want all of us to meet and go on from there." Johnny explained. Mark nods in response.
"Alright, I'll bring them out." He said as he made his way to the RV. Johnny and I head back to the car as Claire rolled down the windows.
We explained to them what we discussed and what's gonna happen. They all step out of the car as we wait for Mark to come out with his people. After a minute passes the RV door opens again. Mark steps out, along with a girl around our age with black box braids, wearing a red sweater and blue jeans.
An Asian man steps out next with messy long curly black hair going down to his neck. He's wearing a black Pierce the Veil T-shirt, a dark blue button up jacket matching his blue eyes, and black cargo pants.
A pregnant woman is last to come out. She seems to be at least seven months pregnant, judging from how big her belly is. Her red hair is put up into a messy bun and her yellow eyes shine bright. She has on black leggings, a grey blouse, and a long black crochet sweater jacket.
We all line up in front of each other. Mark stepped forward with his daughter.
"This is my daughter, Riley."
"Nice to meet you guys." She waves to us. Mark walks over to the Asian man.
"This is one of the best shooters I know, Justin."
"Pleasure to meet you guys." He salutes with two fingers. Mark walks to the pregnant lady.
"And last but not least, Ruby." She simply just smiled and waved.
Johnny introduces us to Mark and his people. Everyone starts to talk to each other, so I pull Johnny and Mark to the side. They both looked at me with an raise brow.
"What's the plan? Ruby can't be apart of it of course, but we're gonna need to come up with something if we gonna go up against this army. We can't really go in there with no guns really."
"Come with me I have something to show you guys." Mark said smiling. He leads me and Johnny into his RV.
The inside is pretty huge. There's a table, a few brown cabinets around a stove, a sink, a brown couch, a fridge, and a couple matching seats. In the back of the RV, there's a closed door, another one next to it closed, and another across from it cracked open.
"This way." Mark ordered as we followed him to the back. I take a quick peak at the cracked door and spot a nice looking bathroom. Mark then opens the door next to it reveling a bedroom.
A small bed with grey covers and pillows sat there unmade. A window is above the bed, next to it are two posters, one Spiderman, and the other Three days grace. There's a closet across from the bed that Mark started to open.
"Salvage these at a police station a few miles back. Picked it clean, don't think they'll miss it. Think this would help?" Mark asked. The doors fly open reaveling a huge arsenal of guns, ammo, grenades, armor, and gun attachments.
Johnny and I look at each other not hiding a huge grin on our impressed faces. We look back at Mark and the guns.
"This will do." We both said in unison. Finally things are looking up for us. Now we only have to get there, stop Phoenix and save the man I love.
