*Johnny's Pov*

We passed a few straggling growlers on the road. They reached for us helplessly but the van was to quick for them, so they followed us like slow paparazzi following Kanye. The trees rustled in the wind as the sky started to turn a grey color preparing for rain. Dylan pulls the map out of the glove compartment and starts to trace over it.

"So we should hit up a Walmart or a  Meijer's, they should have all what we are looking for. You know if it's not picked clean already." He suggested.

"Walmart would be better, they have a pharmacy. Shouldn't be long until we're there guys." Olivia informed us as she continues driving.

"You guys think we'll run into those spartan people?" Simon asked from behind me.

"Hopefully not. The last thing we need is to worry about the dead and the living." Claire admitted next to me.

"Johnny?" Jenny softly called me from behind me.

"What's up?"

"Why has Nicole been the only one in charge of guarding the inventory closet these past few days. Did something happened?"

I froze for a second. I looked around and it seems that everyone noticed and started to wonder the sudden change. I sighed.

"Well because...we have a mole in the group."

Everyone gasped in disbelief.

"Why didn't you tell me? We don't hide anything from each other babe." Claire said with some hurt in her voice.

"I know and I'm sorry, but I didn't want whoever the mole is to find out I'm on to them."

"I would of done the same thing." Dylan admitted.

"Thanks man."

"Besides Nicole who else knows?" Claire asked.

"Lily. She over heard us and now she's my partner in crime." She has been pretty useful in the search. She did find some clues of broken branches near the camp only the living could make. If it was the dead there would've been a bunch of blood.

"So that's why she looked like a mini man in black that one day." Dylan chuckled. The vehicle stopped moving.

"We're here." Olivia said. I looked out the window to spot the big sign that says Walmart. She parked in front of the store were it says no parking. The lot has a bunch of abandoned vehicles, about three growlers slowly making their way towards us, and shopping carts.

We all exit the van and head to the back to retrieve our bags.

"Look just please don't tell the others about it, especially Jess. I don't fully trust her." I told them as I unsheathed my knife from my holster. "Dylan let's take them out." He nods as he puts his quiver on his back and pulls an arrow out.

The both of us jog to the growlers and Dylan stops along the way to use his bow. He fires it through the eye of a growler who looks like she was a soccer mom. I kick the leg out of a growler that looks like a truck driver and drove my knife through it's temple. The last growler, whom used to work here judging from his vest fell to Dylan's arrow hitting directly in it's forehead.

We returned to the others and Claire handed me my bat.

"Thanks." I smiled. She sighed.

"Don't keep anything from me again okay? Especially something as important like that."

"Never again. I promise." She smiled.

"I would kiss you but you got blood on your face." She giggled.

"Fair enough." I chuckled.

"What the hell is that?" Olivia said frightened of whatever she's looking at. I turn to see what she's talking about and I clenched my bat.

The sight of a growler that has a Walmart vest on is in our sights. But this growler is very different from the others. It's neck has a blue glowing giant ball in it. It walked slowly then stopped suddenly. I feel Claire's hand slide into my free one as we watch the thing.

The ball in the throat of this growler dropped to it's stomach as it hunched over, letting out a terrifying screech. We plugged our ears, the sound is so unbearable. It stopped then we heard the sound of hundreds, no thousands of screaming growlers coming out of hiding all through the town, heading straight for us.

Behind the growler I can see walking and running growlers.

When since they ran?!

"God help us." I muttered.

We are definitely in for it now.
