*Claire's Pov*
*A couple days later*
"Jenny, Olivia, Justin, Dylan, Simon, Claire, and I will set out today into the city in search of more supplies. We've seen some shit in this apocalypse so we've tried to avoid heavily populated places as much as we could. But we can't now. In and out, it should only be a day trip guys. We move out in a hour." Johnny announced to us as we all stood outside the RV, facing him and Dylan.
Even though it's been over weeks since Phoenix and Johnny's injury. I still worry about him coming out here. This is his first time being out of the camp since he recovered. I don't want him to push himself like when he did at his wrestling finals. He had a sprained ankle yet still wrestled. He ended up winning but couldn't stand on that ankle for weeks. I'm glad there's multiple of us coming to watch over him.
"Thank you for the clothes again, I'm glad we're the same size." I heard Jess say from behind me taking me out of my thought. I turn around spotting her in my blue jeans and red blouse. Her blonde hair is much more brighter than when we first met. I didn't have a problem with loaning her any of my clothes. I use to donate my clothes every year with my mom to a homeless shelter. The smiles on there faces were heart warming.
"Oh no problem Jess. So how do you feel being here?" I asked her.
Everyone has a watchful eye on her since she got here. We don't fully trust her but it doesn't mean she couldn't earn it. We found out that Dylan lied about her being a medic and why he really brought her. I couldn't even be mad at him, I'd probably done the same thing if it was me.
"Even though we are out in the open, I like it. I really can't thank you guys enough for your hospitality. I'm very lucky to have met you guys. Even though I'm not one of you guys."
"Hey, in time you will be. We've all been through a lot in this apocalypse. Which means trust doesn't come easily like back then ya know?"
"Yeah I understand. Well I wish you guys some luck on your trip."
"Thanks." And with that she gives me one last smile before entering the RV.
I look over towards the helicopter to see Troy talking to Jenny. I'm really proud of them two. They really helped out a lot and gotten better in shooting. I never would of guess the ones who took training the least serious back then are alive today.
I made sure my backpack has a couple granola bars, my water bottle, a extra 9mm with a couple boxes of ammo, and a extra knife just in case. Seeing that everything was in the bag, I returned to the group. Everyone except Jess are gathered by the van, saying they're goodbyes. I approach them as I make sure my 9mm and hunting knife are in it's holster on my belt.
"Don't worry Lily, I'll bring you back something cool promise." Dylan tells Lily holding up his fist to her.
"Thank you big bro. Come back all of you." Lily said clashing her fist with his then gives him a big hug. Ever since Lily joined our group, I love how quickly she became a little sister to Dylan and to the group.
I spot Johnny talking to Ruby, so I made my way through the crowd to them. Ruby hands Johnny a sheet of paper, places a hand on his shoulder, and nods her head walking over towards Mark. Johnny's eyes land on mine and he smiles.
"Hey, what's that?" I asked pointing at the paper in his hand. He reads it in his head before opening his mouth.
"Looks like she wants me to grab some specific supplies for the baby and if possible two of everything on the list."
"Hmph. Why would she need two of everything?"
"Babe, I'm gonna guess she's preparing for twins." He smirked. Wow twins?! We were trying to prepare for one but if she think twins, we're gonna have to move from this camping site for sure. Holy shit I have an idea.
"That yacht. We can fly her to the yacht then meet up with her on it. Perfectly safe from growlers so she can give birth." I enlightened my husband. He stood there thinking over my idea.
"Babe, I love you and your big brain." He kisses my forehead before addressing the rest of the group.
"Everyone my wife just came up with a plan for Ruby giving birth." Johnny starts to explain my plan to the gang and a lot of head nods are shone as they take in the plan.
"Like I said there's not enough fuel to do trips with the helicopter." Carlos brought up.
"We won't need 'trips' just one. You'll fly her and the others onto the yacht, then after we get our supplies we'll meet you guys on the yacht." I explained to him.
"Okay. I guess we start packing, we'll leave tonight." Carlos said scratching the back of his neck. "When I spot you guys coming I'll fly you guys onto the yacht." He added.
"Thank you man." Johnny nodded.
"Let's get moving then." Dylan said while opening the trunk of the van. We all placed our bags in the back, along with some extra duffle bags. Johnny through Olivia the keys as she volunteered to drive. She caught it and we all piled in as she turned the van on, the engine roaring with life. With Nicole and Riley opening up our car wall for us to get out, we leave the camp and head straight to the city.
