requested by highlylrh desc: dom was happy to stay with the boyfriend label forever but you really want to get married. it's always been something you wanted, since you were young, so dom decides to finally tie the knot

"hey y/n?" dom asked. you smiled as you sat down on the couch next to him. he wrapped his arm around you as he softly looked into your eyes. "can i talk about something?" he asked. "of course" you smiled.

"so, i know we've talked about this a couple of times but do you feel the same way about marriage?" he asked. you sighed before responding. you let out a sigh before responding. marriage had been a rife in the relationship for a while.

dom hadn't been too committed to marriage or anything like that, he would be happy to stay with you for as long as a marriage without tying the knot. but you were on the opposite side of the spectrum.

you'd always dreamed of the wedding. it wasn't like a bridezilla thing, you just wanted to be with the man who was perfect for you, the most romantic proposal which worked for both of you, the best wedding, everything.

it was a difficult pairing as you both wanted to do what each other wanted, so it ended up a constant stalemate of not making any progress, which was what dom wanted but it didn't make him happy, knowing it wasn't making you happy either.

"i feel the same way i did the last time we spoke about this" you giggled softly, kissing dom's neck. it had almost become an inside joke between you, tom, adam, colson and dom that you'd never get married.

"okay, i was just wondering" he said. you smiled as you turned on the tv and began scrolling through netflix. but this had set off the perfect plan in his head. he'd been wanting to tie the knot and this was the last push he needed.

he wasn't against the concept of marriage, it was more just that it wasn't on his priority list. he would love to spend the rest of his life with you so if dom could, and what he did made you happy, then of course he'd do it.

he'd love to marry you and he knew more than anyone else you'd be gutted if you never married. it was an inside joke between the two of you, tom, adam and colson that you'd never get married.

dom was prepared to prove them wrong.

with it coming close to your 5 year anniversary, it was a no brainer. you watched netflix together for a few more hours before you got tired. "i'm gonna go to bed, goodnight bubba" you smiled, kissing his cheek softly.

"goodnight darling" he said, kissing your cheek softly. you left the room and instantly dom dove onto his phone looking for bookings he could make for rings. he looked through sites after site until he found the perfect one.

the ring had a gorgeous blue sapphire with smaller red rubies decorating the side of it. it just felt right for the wedding ring. for the engagement ring, he found a plain gold ring with an amethyst in it. both of them just felt right.

it was two days until your anniversary, time to plan.

*time skip*

"y/n are you done?" dom asked. "almost" you giggled, finishing putting your high heel on before opening the bedroom door. "you look absolutely perfect" dom said, kissing your neck softly, hugging you to him softly.

you smelt his cologne, it was a scent you'd gotten used to, you loved it as you had so many happy memories associated with it. "you ready to go now?" he asked. you nodded as you both left the house to the restaurant.

"this is so nice" he smiled, sitting down across the table from you, holding his hand in yours softly. the moment was electric. the reddish pink hue of the restaurant, the buzz of the air, the soft smell of food and alcohol.

seeing dom across from you, his hair a cute ruffled mess, his green emerald eyes seeming as perfect and glowing as ever. "here's to five years" he said, his eyes as soft as ever. he still stared at you like it was the first date again.

"to five years" you giggled softly, your glass making a satisfying clinking noise against his. you took a sip of your champagne as both of your meals arrived. you both ate together, laughing and making jokes together.

once you were done eating, dom got the bill as you left the restaurant. "c'mon, i want to show you something" he said softly. you trusted him, wrapping your hand tightly around his. "i want to show you something" he smiled.

you walked together and dom led you to a local park. your stomach took leaps, remembering the park. dom had taken you through it when your first date was over. he smiled gently as he stopped by a willow tree.

he sat down next to you under the tree as his eyes met yours softly. "i love you so much y/n, i really do" he smiled. "this anniversary's made you dead soppy" you giggled, kissing his cheek softly. "i want to spend the rest of my life with you" he said softly.

"and i'm here to do that today" he said, beginning to stand up as he lifted a ring box out of his pocket. he got on one knee in front of you as your eyes immediately filled with tears, but they were tears of joy.

your heart burst with excitement as you accidentally tackled dom to the ground, now basically laying over him, your arms tight around him. he sat up so he could take a hold of your hand. "i'm guessing that's a yes" he smiled.

"of course it is!" you said, wiping your tears as dom pulled the ring out of the box. he slid it onto your ring finger before wrapping his arms around you again. he left a soft kiss on your lips and you instantly felt another wave of tears fill in your eyes.

"stop crying you soppy thing!" dom said endearingly, wiping your tears as you tried to pull yourself together. "but i thought, you didn't- what?!" you managed to blurt out. "don't focus on what you thought, focus on what's happening" he smiled.

"and you're my fiancée now, mrs harrison to be"
