desc: dom's wanted to get a puppy for ages and you decide to surprise him by adopting a rescue puppy. he instantly falls in love with the puppy and he immediately spoils the hell out of the puppy as though it was his actual child

"where are you going y/n?" dom asked. "i need to go pick something up" you said, putting your keys in your pocket and plugging in your headphones. "okay see you then!" dom smiled as you left the house.

very technically, you were telling the truth. 

you'd been looking for rescue puppies for a while since dom had wanted a puppy for ages and you'd visited the rescue centre multiple times and you instantly knew dom would love one of the puppies in the shelter.

it was an adorable german shepherd puppy with one eye, which was called binkie. he was kind of like dom if you thought about it. binkie could be really hyper but also was really relaxed at times and was always up for playing and running around.

you'd filed for the check that your house was suitable for a dog and they'd agreed. everything had been signed for and today was only the day of taking home binkie. you arrived at the rescue centre and binkie was ready to be picked up.

he was in some blankets and he immediately got excited seeing you. "he's excited to see you" the woman who worked there noted. you smiled as you held binkie in your arms as you went back to the house.

"dom i'm home!" you said as you heard dom quickly running to the hallway. "close your eyes, i have a surprise for you" you grinned as you heard his footsteps slow down. he more staggered than walked into the hallway, his hands over his eyes.

"hold out your arms" you smiled as the dog was conveniently quiet in the bundle of blankets as you put the bundle of blankets in his arms. "open your eyes" you said. he opened his eyes and he immediately gasped excited.

"OH MY GOSH! Y/N WHAT THE FUCK?!" he gasped happily. he held up the puppy who seemed more than comfortable in his arms. "what's his name?" he asked, rocking the puppy back and forth in his arms softly.

"binkie! that's the name he responds to" you said, walking up to dom and stroking binkie softly. "we need to go to the pet store! now!" dom said. "ok relax, i'll put binkie's collar on" you said, getting out his harness and leash.

you put it on him before getting in the car, dom sitting binkie in his lap to keep him stable as you drove. you drove down to the pet store and dom instantly went mad with how much he was buying.

"dom you can't buy all of the store you know?" you laughed, binkie walking with you as dom somehow needed to buy all the chew toys, all the treats, the most expensive beds, everything. after a while you gave up supervising dom.

"dom, i am never leaving you in a pet store with our joint credit card, was £300 really necessary?!" you asked as you piled the bags of stuff he'd bought into the back of the car. "i don't think it's enough" he joked as he got binkie into the backseat next to him. 

you rolled your eyes as you shut the door and got into the drivers seat. you drove you and dom back to the house. the minute you got home dom went mad getting everything ready for binkie. he put his food and water bowls in the kitchen.

he put his bed in the living room, since it was probably the best room in the house for the dog to sleep, putting the dog's toys in the rooms of the house, everything was done. "this dog was your surprise, you better still give me attention" you joked.

"of course" dom said, kissing your cheek when he was done. "i love both of you equally, this is my 'owning a dog honeymoon phase', if that makes sense" he said, smiling. "you're lucky you're cute!" you smiled, kissing him softly.

*time skip*

binkie was happily sleeping in his bed downstairs and dom was cuddled up, his head nuzzled into the crook of your neck. "i love you so much y/n" he smiled, kissing your neck repeatedly. "i love you too" you smiled.
