"Hey guys, what is this?" you hear a little ginger girl say, clasping onto large metal bars as she looks beyond them.
"It's a gate" another says responding to her, but this time it's a boy with platinum hair "it connects the inside and outside".
"Outside, huh? We've never been outside" the girl says, continuing to look beyond the gate.
"Mama always tells us not to go near this gate or the fence in the forest because it's too dangerous" you say, paraphrasing what mama really said. The other kids you were with are a whole year older than you, so they must've known the rules already.
"That's obviously a lie" says a ravenette boy on your left, looking at you as you spoke.
"Really?" Emma sighed, slightly discouraged.
"I don't think it's dangerous out there, I think it's super nice!" you say to Emma with a smile, reassuring her. She looked up from her feet and nodded in agreement.
"Hey Ray! What do you want to do if you go outside?" Emma asked with positivity.
"I don't know. What about you?" Ray says, referring to Emma as he leans his back against the cold metal bars.
"I want to ride a giraffe!" Emma smiled as she threw her hands in the air.
"Good luck" Ray huffed, putting his hands in his pockets.
"I wonder... I wonder what this gate is protecting us from?" Norman says as he grabs one of the metal bars, mind full of curiosity.
