"Norman, take this" Ray says before throwing a small box in his direction. Norman attempts to catch it but it goes up into the air again and he catches it in his other hand, "This is the device to break the tracker. Hold it to your ear and press the button right when you get on top of the wall". Norman nods before waving to you and Ray, and hugging Emma. He then runs off into the forest as fast as his feet can take him. You watch for a moment before going over to a group of children so you don't look suspicious.

"Hey guys, what are you playing?" You ask.

"Jump rope! Wanna play?" A small blonde boy asks. You smile and nod before looking over at Ray, who's eyes jump from you to the forest and then at Mom. He waves you over with his hand.

"Actually, I have to go do something. I'll be back in a bit!" You say and the kids nod before getting back to their game. You walk over to Ray who's sitting under a tree with a book in hand, unopened. You slump down next to him and bring your knees to your chest with a sigh.

"Don't worry. It'll work out" Ray assures you.

"So the camera. Did you use it for the device?" You ask.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I had to ask for it back. I know you liked it" He says.

"It's alright. When we escape, I'll make sure I get us a new one!" You say with a soft smile.

"U-us?" He asks before you hear footsteps coming towards you. You turn your head and see Emma limp over to the two of you with her crutches under each arm.

"Have you seen him since he left?" Emma asks. You and Ray shake your heads in unison and she sighs. She turns her body away and looks out into the forest. You continue to look as well and Ray opens his book next to you. It's a familiar title that you've read a few times so you decide not to join him. You keep your head against the tree as your eyelids starts to grow heavier and heavier.

"Y/n, wake up" You hear Emma say as she taps your shoulder. You flutter your eyes open slowly and see that she's standing above you, tilting her head downwards. The sound of a bell can be heard in the distance and you feel your head resting on something. You turn your head and see Ray looking down at you as well, but much closer than Emma is. After a few moments you realize that your head is laying in his lap, his legs sitting criss crossed underneath you, but he doesn't seem to mind.

"Has Norman..." You start to ask.

"No. I think he made it" Ray responds. You smile softly before sitting up and stretching your arms. Ray stands up to his feet and you do the same and the three of you run over to the group. The sky is painted a pink - purple mixture as the sun begins to set.

"Man, I'm hungry!" A child says to Mom as she smiles. You stay a few feet behind the group and stand there with Ray and Emma, waiting for further direction.

"Where's Norman?" Mom asks in realization before turning to your group of three. The three of you stand there in silence, not making any sound. She looks away and reaches into her pocket to check her pocket watch, clicking the button and opening it. You look at her knowing that she won't find him, and then look over at Ray who was a devious smirk. There's a moment of almost complete silence.

"Oh good! You're back" Mom says before closing the pocket watch and turning around. You look behind her and see Norman walking out of the forest. Your eyes suddenly widen in shock and your breathing becomes heavier. Your heart feels like it's dropped out of your body and 10 feet below the ground.
