You walk out of the dining hall after dinner and start to walk down the hallway. You reach the stairs and climb them until you get to the second floor, continuing down that hallway as well. You're supposed to meet Emma, Ray, and Norman in the library to have a meeting for the escape. It's been a full day since Sister Krone decided to join in a game of tag and it's been surprisingly peaceful since then.

"Y/n" You hear Ray say as he steps out of the bedroom and into the doorway. He waves his hand while his other is still in his pocket before putting it back in his white pant pocket along with the other.

"Hey, you're going to the library like we talked about right" You ask him. You continue down the hallway and stop at the doorway where he's standing. You tilt your head upwards so you can talk to him face to face.

"Mhm" He hums. He takes his left hand from his pocket and places his elbow next to his head in the doorway, shifting his weight against it.

"Okay good. I wasn't sure what time so I thought I'd just go early and read" You say with a nervous smile. He laughs knowing that you somehow manage to be late for everything.

"Let's head there now" He says. He takes his arm down from the side of the wooden doorway and holds his hand out for you to take. You look down at it and reach yours out but instead of him holding your whole hand, he takes your pinky and interlocks it with his. You look back up at him and catch him gazing into your deep (e/c) eyes, making him nervous as he quickly looks away.

"I've been meaning to ask you, what did Jemima whisper to you when we were playing castle with them" You ask while you walk in front of him and turn your body towards him. Your hair follows your body and you start to walk backwards.

"Oh, right" He says as his cheeks start to gain color, "She said that she saw us on the roof the other night". You widen your eyes with a nervous smirk while you continue to walk, the pieces of the puzzle starting to fit together.

"I knew that story was going to come back and bite me" You mumble making Ray furrow his eyebrows, "I told her a story about a princess and a knight and the princess sang out her window until the knight came to save her". While you explain, Ray's cheeks start to glow an even brighter pink but he quickly hides it.

"So that's why she wanted me to be your knight" He says, his gaze moving from your eyes to in front of him. You turn your head to see Norman and Emma standing outside the library. You turn your whole body towards them and watch as they look into your eyes, then Ray's, and then down at your interlocked pinkies. They repeat this cycle multiple times.

"Are we just going to stand out here or are we actually going to go in" Ray asks while rolling his eyes, clearly agitated. Emma smiles nervously and twists the doorknob, opening the library door. The room is completely empty except for some used mugs on the table.

"Krone hasn't done anything since then, it seems strange" Emma says referring to the game of tag that was played the day prior. She's standing facing Norman on the opposite side of the bookshelf that he's looking through, able to see each other through some spaces between the books.

"She's probably just following Mom's orders. Mom used to suspect us, but it doesn't seem like that anymore" Norman says while his fingers trace the spine of a peacock blue book.

"I wonder why" You say as you browse the shelves. Your fingers touch a deep red book and you pull it from the shelf. You look down and open it, skimming through a few pages to see if you'd like it.

"What do you think, Ray?" Norman asks. He turns his head so he can look at Ray who's standing to your left, back facing Norman. You close the book while turning your body and shifting your weight back, leaning against the bookshelf so you can see everyone.

"I'd like to hear what you're thinking Norman" Ray responds as he keeps his attention on the bookshelf in front of his face.

"I think Mom did something behind the scenes so she won't have to move herself" Norman suggests.

"What do you mean?" Emma asks through the bookcase. Norman turns his head back to face Emma.

"Think like Mom. What's the easiest situation you could hope for?" He answers. You look down at your black and white high tops, focusing on the dirty platform that used to be white, "Knowing your targets every move without having to do anything yourself" he continues.

"You said there were no hidden cameras or listening devices" Emma says before her eyes widen in realization, "You mean...".

"That's right. I think-" Norman starts but is cut off by someone else's voice. You look up from your shoes and turn to Ray.

"-That there's someone keeping an eye on us" Ray continues, "and it's most likely one of the kids".

"So, there's a spy?" You ask for clarification.

"Not a spy..." Norman says before turning his gaze to you, "...a traitor".
