Chapter 27: The Destroyer

A/n: How are we in heckin' 7th place in the Konosuba tag!?! I was not expecting that but I also always expect the unexpected so it doesn't really count.

It was another regular, mundane, and quiet day in the town of Axel. The sun was shining and birds were chirping and--

*ALARM BELLS RINGING*

Oh yeah, and everyone was in absolute panic. A very typical morning for the people in this small town. Luna was doing her sole duty to warn the town of danger using her radio tower announcing thingy.

Luna: Destroyer alert! Destroyer alert!

All the townsfolk were in a rush to escape the town at once, bringing along their children and other precious valuables they owned.

Luna: All citizens, please evacuate at once! All adventurers, arm yourselves and report to the adventurer's guild!

Her voice echoed throughout the town. While that was going on, Kazuma and the party were also getting ready to leave the town.

Aqua: Kazuma! We're running! We're going to run away!

Kazuma: Huh? What do you mean?

Aqua was tugging along a cart full with their belongings that were placed on top. Megumin herself also carried her luggage on her back. She gives Kazuma a serious look.

Megumin: The mobile fortress, Destroyer...

Megumin: Fighting it would be reckless, at best.

Aqua: Yeah, yeah.

Kazuma: What even is a Destroyer!? Can somebody explain?

The sound of boots clicking the ground was heard by them as Darkness gladly gave him a short explanation.

Darkness: The Destroyer is an ancient weapon that went on a rampage. They say wherever it passes through, not even grass remains.

Kazuma: *Gulp* Hey, everyone... we're going to the guild.

Aqua: What!? Why?

Kazuma: Because, like hell we're going to let the house we finally earned, after much hard work, be destroyed that easily!

After he declared in defiance, Kazuma then looked around in silence, noticing a certain someone was missing from the party.

Kazuma: Hey, where's Y/n?

Megumin: Oh, I think he's still asleep. It was pretty eventful for him last night.

All of a sudden, Megumin was wearing a guilt ridden face as if she was partly responsible for Y/n dozing off.

Megumin: Especially since...

Short flashback

The three girls stared menacingly at the two boys, one of them still wearing a towel. Y/n had a sort of faraway expression, he was still thinking about his dream.

Aqua: Alright... spill. Y/n, Kazuma, how do you two know those... creatures.

Megumin: And why did Y/n give one of them a kiss?!?

Darkness: On the forehead!

A very tired looking Y/n just shrugged to their questions, resulting in a bunch of shouting and behavior you would expect of a not so typical harem. Kazuma left the explaining to Y/n, which he did not appreciate.

Y/n: *groan* look girls. Me and Kazuma, well, I didn't do anything... explicit- with those succubi. I just went to bed.

Aqua: Lies!
