Not an "actual" Chapter

(A/n): This is just a short thing I wanted to write into the book because... well...
Just cause. You can consider this "canon" or not, I for one am gonna consider this as what happens when the girls aren't around. Also it's short.

We see Y/n and Kazuma in the stables playing cards, Aqua and Megumin went to out of town, but not too far, to shop for supplies and new gear.

It was night time and the moon was out, lighting up the whole area, they had been playing cards for four hours and the girls still haven't returned.

Y/n: Got any shiny pikachu's?

Kazuma looks up from his laid position on the hay, and looks at him weirdly.

Kazuma: That's not how you play this game...

Y/n chuckles and puts his cards down

Y/n: I know, was just messing around.

He sighs and thinks deeply to himself.

Y/n: Hey Kazuma, you and I came from different worlds, right? I guess that means we understand each other more than anyone else here...

Kazuma also puts his cards down and leans back to relax.

Kazuma: Yeah... we do. I mean I came from Japan, how about you?

Y/n: It's uh... it's complicated.

Tracksuit boi laughs and agrees.

Kazuma: Isn't it always?

The two enjoy the sounds of the quiet nocturnal animals outside as Y/n asks Kazuma one last question.

Y/n: Kazuma may I ask, how exactly did you die?

Yeah, Y/n never did get an answer, the first time he attempted asking, Kazuma interrupted Aqua as she tried to tell.

Kazuma hesitated a bit before finally trusting Y/n with his embarrassing secret.

Kazuma: *Sigh* Well... I-I died saving a girl from a truck! I was ran over instead.

Kazuma: The instant I saw her in danger, my body moved on it's own.

He lied as naturally as he breathed. Y/n didn't buy it though since Aqua made such a big deal about it, he doubted that was all there was to it. Also he was sure that last part was a line from an anime he recently watched.

Y/n: A-Ah... I see...

Kazuma: What about you?

Y/n: Uhm... same! I was also ran over by a truck, but for me, I saved a bunch of puppies! Y-Yeah that's... what happened heheh... *sweating immensely*

Sato briefly squinted his eyes before buying Y/n's story. They both bought each other's stories.

Kazuma: Hmm... I guess Truck-kun dosen't discriminate.

Y/n *wipes sweat away* Haha no sir!

He was glad Kazuma bought the fib--

Kazuma: Ok my turn to ask a question.

Oh crap.

Kazuma: Aqua told me your card was defective? That can't be right, the guilds provide adventurers with magic cards.

Kazuma: Magic dosen't just "break".

He quotes with his fingers.

Our dear mc reader gets nervous, he twiddled his fingers together. He guessed today's the day he tells the gang his secret.

Y/n: *sigh* Well... you see--

*Bang*

The stable doors swing open to reveal Aqua and Megumin, the two looking really raggedy and twigs and leaves around their clothes as they held up some bags carrying what is assumed to be the things they purchased.

Kazuma: Woah! What happened to you guys?

Megumin: We got lost in a nearby forest. Aqua got us off the path.

Megumin said in a deadpan tone.

Aqua: It's not my fault! the guy's directions weren't clear!

She denied her uselessness.

Wheew! Y/n didn't have to spill his secret. He was safe. For now.
