Chapter 29 - Understanding the Prophecy

Author's note: Sorry I've been slow to update, I got really invested in Magi and began an x reader for that, so if you want to check it out I'm gonna try to update both this story and that story at least once a week, if not more depending on the amount of creativity I have! This one is going to be a little short but I plan for the next chapter to be quite longer!

Lavi eagerly nods at me before looking around the cafeteria.

"We probably shouldn't talk about this in headquarters though, let's go somewhere a little more private." With that, he grabs my hand and starts leading me towards the entrance. His hand feels really nice... ah get a hold of yourself, I need to focus on the task at hand. Really, a pun? I chuckle and Lavi looks backs at me quizzically. I shake my head and he just shrugged before continuing. We make it outside and go into the forest outside the base. We go and sit over on a log out in a small clearing. I turn to him with a serious expression.

"Alright, lay it on me, what do you know about all of this." He hesitates before bringing out the white tumbled stone from before. He places it delicately in my hand.

"I really told you most of what I know before, but there was something I had recalled once we left the Ark. Specifically the panda jogged my memory. That once the two were joined, the Noah are stated that the Earl reformed will trigger the Pillar." I glance up at him visibly shocked.

"The Pillar, the one that will wipe out all of humanity right? Is that why the Noah are working with Mana, to kill Nea and prevent the merging and stop the Pillar?" He only nods.

"That's what we believe. But, this won't happen as well if you and Chronea merge. That's why Nea gave me and the panda this stone." I run my fingers across the smooth stone as I hold it in my palm.

"How did he make this, and why does it seem familiar to me?"

"Nea stated that is was something of Chronea's that she designed millennia ago." Because we are starting to merge, my memories are slowly becoming yours. Unlike Tyki who can switch back and forth, most of the Noah memories have merged into the human vessel's, due to the Noah memory completely take over the vessel. So you made this stone to keep you and your vessel separated? No, I had actually made it for Wisely at the time as a test to see if we could separate the vessel from the memory. Interesting... I look back up towards Lavi before speaking.

"Nea said he had a plan, now I just have to ask him what it is..."

"That's right, you mentioned on the Ark you talked to Nea, but how? He supposedly died and hasn't reincarnated yet-"

"You called?" Me and Lavi both turned to find Allen, but more accurately, Nea standing behind us.

"Nea?" I stand up, slightly concerned if he had taken over Allen near the Order.

"Nea!?" Lavi stands up abruptly and backs away a step. "You're telling me Allen is Nea's vessel?!" I scratch my cheek bashfully as I answer.

"Ah right, you guys haven't figured that out yet. Probably because I helped you out of the Ark instead of Allen playing Nea's song to control it. Whoops." I shrug my shoulders and walk over to Nea. I see Lavi still defensively standing a ways back and motion for him to join. "Look, if you can trust me, a Noah vessel, you can trust him." He shakes his head frantically.

"Yeah, well you aren't taken over by Chronea; this is purely Nea, not a shred of Allen is here at the moment."

"Yes but he won't harm me, and he wants to help, so please just trust him for the time being."

"...Fine." Lavi hesitantly walks over to us, keeping a watchful eye on Nea. I turn to face Nea at this point.

"So, what's your plan to preserve me and Chronea, and also merge you and Mana?"

"Simple, I do what I was planning all along before you decided to show up, devour the idiot and merge."

"But, that didn't work when he did it to you, why will that suddenly be any different?"

"Uhhh..." Nea stands there dumbfounded, before trying to cover up his reaction. "Of course it's different!"

"Hmm? I'm waiting to hear the difference."

"Okay, I don't know if it will matter, it's just a gut feeling I have." I shake my head before the realization hit me like a ton of bricks.

"I think I know what we need to do-" As I began talking a door opens up behind me and I am pulled in. "Help!" I try to reach out to Lavi and Nea before everything goes dark.
