Jimin's body was aching and burning. Everything was bright and for a moment he was unable to make out where he was. When his eyes finally adjusted he realized he was lying on the ground and above him, in the sky, the sun was shining brightly.

Jimin immediately crawled over in the shade of a tree. He sat in the shade blankly for a moment before he recalled the events of yesterday. The fight and how Jungkook died.

The ashes of victoria had long since scattered with the wind but panic sized the vampire when he realized that Jungkook's body had disappeared too.

He realized that this was reality and the Jungkook in the meadow was his dream. He was unable to breathe as he closed his eyes and recalled the promise Jungkook made to never leave him alone.

(The part where Jimin woke up in the meadow was a dream and tge realityis that Jungkook has died.)

The hunter didn't keep his promise.

Jimin was suddenly sized by anger that was directed at himself.  He was useless even unable to protect Jungkook body. The vampire spent the afternoon dragging himself through the woods and searching for the body until the sun was hanging low on the horizon and he saw Jungkooks locket lying on the ground.

He smiled bitterly as he picked it up, "I told you not to take it off."

The locket had been enchanted to protect Jungkook. As long as Jungkook wore it all his wounds would have been transferred to Jimin and if he died it would also be Jimin's death.

"No wonder you took it off. No wonder you took the blow for me. It wasn't your fault, you died. Your mistake was accepting me as your soulmate. You were my punishment, weren't you?" The vampire sobbed weakly.

For him, all the colors had suddenly faded everything was meaningless... aimless.

He started at the house he had lived in for the past half-century. Somehow clutching the locket in his bloodstained hand he had returned as he walked in the garden with slow steps he let the locket go as it fell in the grass with a dull clunk.

Jimin's eyes were blank as he then reached out to the ring on the thumb of his left hand. The ring had a blue stone that protected him from the sun's rays.  He slowly started to take it off but just as the ring was about to slip past the tip of his finger he was pulled by a pair of strong arms into the shade of the trees. The ring with the bluestone rolled away to the edge of the garden where the river and the stream met.

At the very edge, it finally came to stop.

Jimin who was lying on the ground felt a sense of deja vu and with the word, 'Jungkook' at the tip of his tongue, turned around.

But it wasn't Jungkook instead it was... his brother Taehyung.

Jimin couldn't help but recall the moment 300 hundred years ago when they had been newly turned and he hadn't wanted to live this cursed life but back then it was Taehyung who had forced him to become the predator. And that was the only grudge that had stood between them for all these years.

Seeing his brother the anger that the vampire had suppressed welled up. Jimin stood up as the sky above them had turned dark again. It was probably Taehyung's doing, while Jimin's magic origin lay more towards the psychic powers, Taehyung could control the weather and winds.

Jimin didn't hesitate as he ran towards the vampire with his fangs bared, growling, "Why do you hate me so much huh?" He kicked his brother in the stomach and Taehyung didn't resist taking every hit from Jimin, "Why can't you just let me get rid of this endless curse and die? Why Taehyung?"

Jimin hit Taehyung as he shouted out his anger and frustration, the blonde vampire started to bleed, even though his wounds were healing quickly that didn't mean he didn't feel any pain... yet he didn't let out a single word.

In the end, Jimin couldn't stand up for a moment longer and he collapsed as he lay down on the cold grass facing the sky. His eyes were glossy.

Taehyung slowly approached Jimin. The vampire had vented out his rage and all that remained was an ever-growing void within his chest and exhaustion. Taehyung was exhausted too as he had rushed here overnight without delay when he had realized that Jimin needed him. So he lay down beside Jimin as they both started at the gray sky. Lying side by side, the resemblance between them could be seen in their blonde hair and eyes.

"The only reason I won't let you die is that you are my only family left," Taehyung said in a soft voice for some reason he was afraid that speaking in a too-loud voice would somehow hurt the fragile Jimin.

"But I can't do this anymore, Taehyung." Jimin finally sobbed. "He didn't keep his promise... I won't keep mine either."

Yet Jimin went on. Three months passed by in a whirl for Taehyung who had taken up the responsibility to look after his "only-by-two-minute older" brother. And also defended Jimin's territory. The news that Jungkook had died had reached Jungkook's family and through Hoseok Taehyung knew Jungkook's grandfather had fallen really sick after that.

As for Hoseok, even though the hunter was his soulmate both were a little relucent, and ignored the fact, instead.

Taehyung sighed, as he walked the now similar path to Jimin's meadow the leaves crunching beneath his feet. It was almost sunset and the place where the vampire would often run off too. As he came out to the clearing the sinking sun shone in front as the sky was littered with the stars above him and behind him was a full moon slowly emerging.

Jimin sat in the grass with his legs pulled up to his chest as he stared at a fixed point in the air. Taehyung slowly approached the vampire and sat down beside him, it hurt to see Jimin like this but Taehyung understood the pain Jimin was going through.

The wounds Jimin had would probably never heal but eventually, Jimin would have to accept reality. But Jimin's empty gaze scared Taehyung. Even when they woke up as vampires, it hadn't been this bad.

"Hoseok came to visit." Taehyung plucked a dandelion.

Hearing Hoseoks name Jimin turned his gaze to Taehyung, "How is their grandfather?"

"Not good, they say he might not have much time," Taehyung replied a little gloomily.

Jimin did not say anything as he stared at the sky. Taehyung sat beside the man for a while longer and getting no response he got up to leave, "Jimin, you should go hunt,"

Jimin shook his head unable to tell Taehyung that the sight of blood repulsed him.

Taehyung sighed deciding he would go and hunt for Jimin as he had been doing for the past three months but he had only taken a step away when Jimin spoke, "I want to go see his grandfather for him, Tae. It's the least I can do."

By the time night fell, Jimin found himself sitting in his study as he browsed through the books on his shelf. He was dead set on his decision to go visit Jungkook's grandfather. But he needed to prepare a charm that would hide his vampire aura from the hunters but he was afraid that by the time he was done it would be too late.

At that moment there was a soft knock on the glass doors of the balcony that were covered by white translucent curtains, Jimin frowned as he tried to sense who it was because it surely wasn't Taehyung but the vampire was unable to sense anything.

He placed the book upside down on the table as he cautiously approached the balcony door at that moment he sensed who the person was and the vampire's approaching footsteps halted abruptly and his slow heartbeat skipped a beat. Multiple emotions passed through his eyes, disbelief the most evident.

The person who was on the other side grew impatient and started to knock again before growing annoyed as he shouted, "Jimin open this door or I will break it."

The vampire finally broke out of his trance and rushed over to open the door, "Jungkook?"
