#16: The Hyacinth Bloom

Jimin wouldn't say that things went smoothly for them after that but they weren't worst either. After Jungkook woke up later he told Jimin about how he ended up in Divine Court and how he bargained for his right to choose what he wanted. What he didnt say was how he had been cursed by the judges, that they had said he would recieve his punishment eventually.

He was unable to tell jimin.How could he tell this to the man who had waited and suffered enough already? So he stayed silent.

For the first few days, Jungkook stayed with Jimin until he regained some of his health before daring to go back to his village.

The vampire was relucent to let go but in the end, he still had no right to stop Jungkook. if he was to speak the honest truth, then he would say he was afraid. Afraid that despite the feeling that he felt for the hunter, he won't be enough because at the end of the day he was still a creature of dark and jungkook was a being with the angel's blood rushing in his veins.

Hence in the few days that they were together, it was a topic they both avoided greatly.

After Jungkook left a month passed by with no sign of the hunter. It was Hoseok who told him later that Jungkook was under house arrest.

It was during those few months of Jungkook's house arrest that Jimin realized that even if they hadn't known each other for long, the little time together had left a deep impression on Jimin who had been alone for most of this cursed life.

He saw Jungkook in the silence of his living room laughing at the pictures above the fireplace or in the yard warming up, working out in random places at completely irregular times, or hear him complaining how his kitchen was just another storeroom.

He missed seeing him talking to things like the flowers, birds, or his weapons. And Jimin would never admit it but these little peculiar habits of Jungkook were the most endearing.

Time slowed once again for Jimin and things became dull and gray in his soulmate's absence. Jimin stopped leaving the boundary of the woods to go visit the town. He would be holed up in his study or meditating in the meadow.

One month stretched into three, the sun sank every evening and let the moon scatter its rays turning everything it touched into an enchanting silver radiance, and as dawn approached, the moon would shy back to its hiding place and let the sun reign once again in the sky. 

As September ended the trees were shedding their leaves and yet a certain vampire still saw no sign of his soulmate. 

And with the ticking of the clock, the demons that the vampire kept hidden, gained strength.

He might be a vampire who has lived for centuries but he wasn't a stranger to love and desire. He wasn't a stranger to this yearning he felt for a certain someone. And to add fuel to the fire the feelings only got worse with the passage of time feeding to his demons.

Jimin's mind was muddled as he walked back to his home from the meadow, the few days that Jungkook was with Jimin after he came back the vampire had kept his distance so as not to make the hunter uncomfortable. 

As Jimin heard the rushing of streams and saw the familiar house ahead his footsteps abruptly came to a stop. Taehyung was sitting on the porch twirling a purple flower between his long fingers, looking up when he sensed his brother. 

Jimin didn't move for a moment staying where he was staring at his younger brother debating whether or not to run away. It was one of his fatal flaws, ever since he was young he would always run away from problems he should face, hide from the words that held the truth. 

Over time he traveled the world and witnessed a lot of things and one would expect that the more he experienced the wiser he would grow and easier it would be for him to let go of his absurd habit but the habit had stayed with him all along until that moment.
