10. Missing you.

It's has been almost two weeks since I left home for a certain business trip in LA.

I felt like it was taking a year and in some strange way I was missing Chloe more than I did my sister, Cherry. Who would get tired of looking at those innocent amber eyes that held something close to fire.

I noticed before, most of the time she was having this serious kinda angry look but she was also good at hiding it. Sometimes you could see a number of emotions twirling behind her eyes, but that never made her any less attractive.

If anything, I wanted to know all her problems and help her, I wish she could trust me.

It was remaining one day for us to go back home but I was impatient, I had also attended that trip a day late because I had to be there for my marvelous Chloe's birthday. It was a small sign yeah, but I was very happy when she saw up at my office on birthday, and it made me even more happier when I found out that she had put an effort to cook for me with cherry's help of course. So I wouldn't have missed her birthday for the world.

I had bought her a phone and I had also saved my number in that phone but we've never talked. So on that particular morning I decided to send her a simple text, I had saved her My marvelous.

Me: Hello marvelous.

I waited and I felt like it was taking me hours. Six minutes later I heard a notification pop up on my phone.

My marvelous: Helloooooooo Caesar!!!!!

Against all restraints, I tried to keep myself from giggling like an highschool kid. That was such a warm gesture.

I was sitting at the corner in the hall where we were assembled at, I minded less about what the speaker was talking about, I could also see some people taking notes but damned be those notes, so I replied again,

Me: How are you today, it's been long.

A minute later she replied.

My Marvelous: I'm good, how about you? I miss you caesaarrrrr😭😭😭😭😭.

What the fuck! How can such a simple text send your heart into a thumping mess? I was just there staring at the screen. The girl seemed too bold, not bold by nature but bold through innocence. I knew she was more of a chary lady under that skin of hers.

But I tried to make a reply;

Me: Are you sure? And you wouldn't be seeing me in the next three months 😩.

I lied trying to see her reaction. And I sure had that reaction at my disposal in something like ten seconds;

My Marvelous: What?????!!!?!!??!

Now we both switched into a chatting mode.

Me: Yes, I know I'll miss you guys so much😭.

My marvelous: That's not fair at all😭😭. I don't know why but I kinda feel secure when you're here at home.

Me: So you want to tell me that you feel insecure now that am away?

My marvelous:  Not really, but somehow. Anyway let's change the topic because I don't want to be mad at the idea that I'll not be seeing you in the next three months.

Me: Do you miss my handsome face?

My marvelous: Don't be so silly😤. You're so confident for that hideous face of yours

I suddenly had an outburst of laughter in the hall and everyone turned to look at me. I slipped the phone into my pocket very fast and assumed that I was jotting down notes.

After everyone's attention was back to the speaker of the day, I stood up, careful not to disrupt them again and I walked out.

Since we were at some cozy resort, I found a single wooden chair under a tree and sat there. It felt comfy for sure. So I texted her again;

Me: Why can't you just accept it, it's a fact.

I waited for her reply but she didn't reply. Almost thirty minutes had passed and I was starting to give up and go back inside but I saw people coming out from the hall. So that meant that the meeting was over.

I relaxed into my chair, ready to call Mesh and check on how everything was going on back at the office but a message popped from my marvelous Chloe.

My Marvelous: You wish, I'm sorry I was bathing.

I smiled and replied immediately.

Me: Took you long, what were you washing for thirty minutes?

My Marvelous: You don't wanna know 😂😂..
Me: trust me, I want to.

My marvelous: sir, what's the time over there?

Wow, she's good at switching topics. I almost rolled my eyes. But I answered her anyway,

Me: 12:13 p.m.

My Marvelous : Wooooo, it's 9:13 a.m here.

Me: That means that you've not eaten your breakfast yet right?

My Marvelous: Yes, am about to go down, I'll be cooking today ☺️.

Me: Wow! Our professional chef!

My marvelous: Stop fueling it.

Me: Can't wait to taste your cooking again. My taste buds are already swelling.

My Marvelous: They better be. But caesaarrrrr 😭.

Me: What marvelous Chloe?

My marvelous: You'll not be there on my graduation day😭😭😭😭.

Me: You know you can take a video and show me when I'll be back. Or Cherry will video call me you know😜.

My Marvelous: I wanted you to be there😭.

Me: I'm sorry.

I wanted to change the topic quickly before I betrayed myself. So I texted almost immediately again;

Me: Didn't know you were good at chatting and using emojis.

My marvelous: The first two days were not easy, but am a fast learner. Cherry taught me on that Saturday morning and we chat with Nicole everyday so I'm well acquainted with my galaxy now😌😌.

Me: Wooow, I envy you. It took me two years to get well acquainted with my first phone, you it's just two days, how in the living hell!!!

My Marvelous: Two years😳😳??, Whaaaaaaaattttt!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm so sorry, you're so old school dear uncle!😂😂😂😂.

I bursted out laughing at the nickname.

Me: Pray I don't catch you... Otherwise👹...

My Marvelous: Just forget about even remembering I called you that, it'll be Three months later... Like in movies 😂😂😂😂.

This girl was a case and I just found myself laughing at her corny jokes. And that made me miss her more.

I couldn't wait anymore...
