Minutes later, I heard the rustling of metal and the gate opened revealing his Silver sports car. He just drove in slightly and parked the car carelessly, got out quickly and closed the gate. He then ran towards the entrance route.
I could see his silhouette illuminated from the headlights of his car that were still on. I was still sitting at the base of the stairs and when he got closer, he stopped abruptly.
He scanned the place before his eyes fell on mine. He didn't say a word. He moved closer to me and without warning, he scooped me up bridal style and walked us up into the building.
I just snuggled closer into his familiar welcoming scent as tears kept pooling out of my eyes. I whimpered when he kicked the door to a room, and I don't know where he clicked but lights flooded the room.
I opened my eyes slowly adjusting, that's when I noticed it was his childhood room.
"You're going to tell me what happened, take your time though. No rush." He said slowly setting me down into his small bed. I didn't have time to scan the size, it was just enough for three tiny bodies, that's what I remembered from before when I took a tour around the mansion with Cherry.
I didn't say anything. I unfolded my right hand and gave him the note card that I had folded in it.
He scanned the contents slowly, taking his time. He didn't flinch or do anything. He kept his eyes focused on the note card until my anxiety started to sip in.
"Caesar..." I squeaked, my voice coming out hoarse from lots of crying in the course of the day.
"Where did you get this?" He asked, his voice tight. He didn't raise his eyes still.
"Just a moment." I said getting up slowly and started walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?" He raised his head and looked at me with what I could have guessed to be worry.
"I'm coming back." I replied taking a step ahead.
"No, I'm coming with you." He said getting up. Typical Caesar, I felt like rolling my eyes but I didn't have the energy to do that.
I felt like he was breathing on my neck as I walked towards his parent's room. When we were there, I went straight to the drawer, I picked the album. The flashcard was still in my hand.
"I got that note in that drawer. " I replied walking closer to him. He seemed stiff but that didn't stop me from putting the flashcard in his hand.
"Let's go back to your room." I kind of ordered him. But he still walked stiffly beside me until we were back in his room.
I opened the album and we started reviewing it silently. Either of us spoke. As we reviewed it, I noticed the lots of pictures my parents were part in now that I was a lot focused.
I still didn't mention anything until we were at that wedding picture.
"Do you know them?" I asked looking at him hopefully.
"Yes, this were my parent's bestfriends. This is Mrs Isabella, I used to call her 'pretty Isabella' and she used to call me 'cute C'..." Before he could finish a loud gasp escaped me as my heart clenched further. I didn't know if I was going to live through that night. Everything was getting too much for me to take in.
"And this is Mr A. I used to call him just A since he told me to call him that. He taught me how to ride a bike." He smiled sadly then looked up at me. "Are you okay Marv?" He looked at me with concern.
"Where are they?" I dismissed his concerned question and asked him.
"Daddy told me that they went heaven..." He trailed and then smacked his face. "I think they died, oh shit, I was so stupid. I believed my parents and I was a whole thirteen year old boy."
