Chloe's pov
Cherry suddenly made a stop at the middle of the road. My thoughts had been jumbled for the past hour or so as she drove us, to no where specifically.
It was infuriating to see her give me one of those looks that says, 'seriously chloe?'
"Just drive cherry." I stated grumpily banging my head on the back of my seat as I sank lower, physically frustrated.
"No, I'm not driving anymore." She flipped her neatly manicured nails infront of her then turned to look at me. "Not unless you tell me where to. I can't keep driving around as if we are on some shitty road trip, Who does that?" She raised her well plucked eyebrow quizzically. "Wake up, we aren't in movies where an heartbroken girl stops a taxi and tells the driver just drive so that she'll get away from her boyfriend, no way, we're in Bronx ting ting."
Indeed, who does that?
I shrugged and suddenly saw her pulling the car to the roadside.
"I know how you must be feeling. I swear I know." She pats me on my upper shoulder lightly.
I look at her, I open my mouth to say something but she beats me to it, "I love you Chloe, I've come to treasure you and the time you've been with us. I don't know how but I think we just clicked the first time you got here and I don't know how it's going to be without a Chloe somewhere in that mansion, you've been more than a sister to me."
I see tears springing in her eyes and it takes me a glance at the rearview mirror to notice my glassy eyes too.
"I love you too cherry. You were the best friend I've never had. A sister I never had before too." I managed a small sad smile.
She looked at me sadly, a little too longer as tears spilled down her cheeks. She seemed to have remembered something and she suddenly said, "We're going somewhere."
With that, she revved up the car engine and drove us out.
"Where?" I asked getting nervous. "I can go back to Rochester you know." I suggested.
"No way you're going back there Chloe."
I also didn't want to go back there but what if that was the only option?
"And you are also going to keep attending your classes, you just have one and half month to go remember?" She just had to remind me that? I just nodded looking ahead of the road, soon I was lost again.
I felt like we were driving away, away from home, away from home, home... Home... Home.
I admit I felt at home whenever I was with Caesar. But was he my home? Was his home my home?
No.
After around forty minutes, we stopped at a well fenced compound with dark grey blocks. The house looked breathtaking but at the same time it didn't have that homey feeling.
Cherry picked a key from I don't know where and pressed it, I saw the gates opening and she drove further in after pressing the keys to close the gate again.
She packed the car at what seemed to be a parking lot and I saw her tensing as she looked out of the window, taking in the surrounding.
She gripped her steering wheel tighter and I swear her knuckles were turning white real fast. I've never seen her before this uncontrolled. The worst state I had seen her in was the not so long ago outburst at her brother.
"Where are we Cherry?" I asked in a small voice being careful not to make her more mad.
I saw her relaxing slowly as if she hadn't noticed I was in the car with her before. She looked at me apologetically before she unbuckled her seatbelt and motioned for me to do the same.
