baby's first steps( Charles)

I had always imagined what it is like to be a mom and get to experience things like a baby's first sneeze, first laugh, first gibberish, first walk, and talk.

And I've experince all but two and that's walking and talking.

But that's ok cause little Jessie has been doing things that prepped her to take her first steps.

She has been holding on to chairs steading her balance, she has been lifting her little legs as if she was about to walk.

Every time I think she is gonna do it she seems to change her mind or something else catches her attention.

Charles says I am getting over excited which I ignored too busy focused on Jessie to reply to that comment.

I was sitting there talking with Edward as Jessie was holding on to his hands and wobbling a little.

"Do you think she will do it today?" he asked

"We can only wait to see" I replied

"Think we should make a distance for her just in case?" 

"We could," I say then stand up and move the chair I was seated in before I put a long enough distance between Edward and me in the case today would be the day Jessie decides she will walk.

When she sees that I am not close to her she lets Edward's hands go and slowly starts to move to take her time and keeping her balance as she finally starts to walk.

My eyes light up and my jaw drops as I watch her start to walk.

"Woah she is finally doing it," Edward says

"It's so amazing," I say as we sit there watching her.

Neither me nor Edward pays any mind to anything else but Jessie as she makes her way over to me.

I smiled and reached out for her.

"Come on Jessie come to mommy," I say

"After a few tumbles and falls she gets back up, she is really determined," Edward said

"She is a brilliant little lady, and she gets some of her determination from me and some from your two's dad" I compliment

When I mentioned Charles Jessie smiled as she walked into my arms.

I smiled as I stood up and danced around with Jessie in my arms.

"You took your first steps, and I finally got to experince another first thing that I've always wanted to," I say before I sit back down and sit her back on her feet.

"Think she will want to walk again?" Edward asks

" She might," I tell him

"Alright Jessie let's see if you will walk to bubby," I say to her

"Come on Jessie," Edward says

"Yeah come on baby girl," Charles says

"How long have you been back?" I asked

"Long enough to catch you scooping her up and dance around with her in excitement" he replied

Meanwhile, Jessie was halfway to Edward as Charles and I was talking.

I turn my attention from Charles and focused back on Jessie right as she makes it into Edwards's arms and he smiles.

"she walked back to me," he says

"Yea she did," Charles says as he made his way over and knelt and rubbed Jessie's back making her look from Edward to him and smile.

"You're such a big girl Jessie," Charles says

I stand up and look at them smiling.
