1976 (dazed and confused)

No party!

Pink, Slater, and I start riding back to my house. And I think slaters head is in the clouds.

"Hey man did you hear about that new tv show?" He asks

"What tv show?" Pink asks

"The Brady bunch" he says

I look at him in confusion, is this mans brain cells really gone?

"Slater that show has been on for years!" I say while laughing

"It has?" He asks in confusion

"Yeah man it has" Pink says

I laugh as we turn onto my street "Oh wait a minute" I say to pink.

"What's up?" He asks

"Alright so, you have no idea how happy I am that we are dating believe me you have no idea!" I say

He laughs "So what's the problem?" He asks

"It's my dad, after O'Bannion my father thought it would be a good idea to not date for a while, he didn't really like O'Bannion that well and trust me I didn't tell him about that night, if I did he would've killed him. But he was never a fan of him, and since the break up was not that long ago he just thought it wouldn't be a good idea. Now as much as I would love to show you off, I can't show you off to my parents, well maybe my mother but not my dad." I say

"That's fine as long as you'll still date me." He says

"You know I will" I say as a I look over at him and smile

He smiles back at me and winks. God I love this boy!

We pull into my driveway to find by parents packing up the car. Looks like their still going on that trip.

I get out of the car and start walking up the driveway

"Hey Mrs.Pickford" Pink says

"Hi boys, hey sweetheart" she says

"Hey mom" I say back as I hug her

"How was hazing?" She asks. She's really not a big fan of it but she puts up with it for my sake.

"Well you would be happy to know that I didn't participate and I have 2 witnesses to back me up" I say.

"Oh yeah she didn't participate she came to sit with us and then after that this one over here asks her out!" Slater says

Oh good god! Seriously Slater! Although why am I not surprised.

"Slater!" I whisper yell to him

"What? What did I do!?" He asks

"Oh really!" My mom says as she looks at me and Pink

"Well did you say yes?" She asks as she smiles

I look at her surprised that she would approve of this so fast, but hey momma Pickford is chill about everything. Except for throwing parties but she doesn't have to know that.

"Well I mean yeah!" I say

"Oh that's so great! It's about time!" She says

"Mom!" I exclaim

"What I mean Pinks perfect for you!" She says

I mentally face palm as I tell her "Please stop and please whatever you do don't tell dad." I say

"Oh trust me I won't, I mean he'll approve this eventually but you know how he is with his rules, but I won't tell him you guys will just have to be good at hiding it." She says
