Since he was little, Jeno believed that time went by too slow. He always wanted to grow up and see what was out there for him. But now, it seemed as if life was going too fast. Everything he ever needed to prepare in life has finally caught up to him. He's left with this now. This is all he has left. He was getting married in a year or so. He was going to graduate in two. He already has a job set for him. It seems as if everything was going perfectly. But at the same time, it seemed as if something was wrong.
I wonder what might've happened if things had gone differently.
Jeno looked back on his memories of the year. He remembered the time when Donghyuck got beat up by Renjun, as well as the time the sunny boy got beat up by him. Oh, and also the other time that Donghyuck got beat up by Mark. And the other time Chenle emotionally beat the boy up. Now that he was thinking about it, Jeno realised a lot of his memories had Donghyuck getting beat up.
He remembered the time he hung out with Sungchan. They went to the pet adoption centre that Sungchan volunteers at. It was a good bonding session for the two. He remembered going out to drink with his hyungs, Doyoung and Taeyong. There was also the time he went with Jiyeon to watch one of her old friends street race. There were so many memories he had made in a year that made Jeno smile, one of nostalgia.
And then he remembered her. He hasn't thought of her in a while. He hadn't seen her around the Academy, especially after he switched majors. Even though he shouldn't have, the boy couldn't help but think about her. Moreover, he couldn't help but think of their memories.
The boy sighed, he shook his head as he opened his locker, retrieving his books from his locker before making his own way to class. Jeno peeked to look at his left side, only to see Hyesoo walking next to him. "Uhhh, what are you doing?" He asked.
"Hm? I'm walking to class with you. We have the same class, so we might as well go there together," The girl replies, her gaze fixated on where she was heading. Jeno continued to look at the girl, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion as to what exactly was she thinking of. Jeno refocused his gaze to where he was going as Hyesoo turned to look at the said boy, due to the gaze she was feeling fixated on her.
"This is nice," the boy thought to himself, "Wait, no, it isn't. Stop having these thoughts Jeno!"
But, despite the constant yelling Jeno was doing to himself in his mind, he couldn't help but feel a sweet emotion inside him as he hid his smile from the rest of the student body and the girl beside him.
Jeno smiled to himself as he remembered the times he began to warm up to her. It sure did take awhile, but he learnt a lot in the process. He'd have to thank the girl for the love she had given one day... maybe.
Hyesoo turned to face him, she smiled, her smile radiated this glowing aura that Jeno couldn't help but feel nervous around. His nerves were getting to him, and he couldn't say anything. He took a deep breath and composed himself before asking his question, "You still haven't told me," he said, "Where are we going?"
