Jeno had uttered a slight curse under his breath. His day was going so well, but the partnership of him and his ex was enough to make the boy swear. It was like the universe was fated against him, and that inevitably, he had to face his fears.
And just when I thought this day was going good.
Music class became a torture for Jeno as from the corner of his eye, he could see Hyesoo. The sight of her was enough to make Jeno's thoughts fly in different directions. He was so caught up in his thoughts, for the seventh time today, he didn't even notice that class was over and Chenle was shaking him to get the boy to focus.
"Jeno hyung? Are you okay?" Chenle asked.
"Hm? Yeah, totally fine," Jeno shook his head as a sign for Chenle to leave it alone and continue on with life.
Chenle nodded and smiled before continuing to grab his stuff that was left on the younger boy's desk.
"Jeno!"
Jeno turned around to see Hyesoo walking towards him. Unaware as to what she wanted, the boy dashed out of class, leaving the girl standing there in slight shock. She glanced at the younger boy to her left. He was about to make his way out and catch up with his Jeno hyung, but the girl quickly stopped him to talk for a brief moment.
"Hi! Chenle, right?" She asks.
Chenle stood there, slightly surprised, but also slightly scared. He didn't know what Hyesoo had wanted, and, based on how Jeno reacted and all his stories, she didn't seem that nice of a person. Chenle slowly nodded, waiting for the girl to proceed with what she was going to say.
"I was wondering if you could give me Jeno's number," she asks, "For the project! I don't have his current number, and I kind of need to contact him so we can start," she sheepishly smiles.
Chenle lets out a small 'o'. He was slightly embarrassed for thinking that the older girl was going to be like a monster, but he hid his embarrassment well. He nodded with a smile. "Of course! Here it is," he says as he writes the number on a small piece of scrap paper, handing it to the girl.
Hyesoo gives the boy a small nod, thanking him. She waves him goodbye and she heads out of the classroom.
Chenle pauses for a second before making his own way out of the classroom, smiling at how nice the girl was. On the way out, he waved at his other friends, Felix and Jeongin. His eyes spot Jisung, packing his bag for the day. Chenle walks up to him, waiting for the younger boy. Afterwards, they make their way to Love Talk together.
The bell of the front door ringing made the customers' heads turn out of instinct. Chenle and Jisung walked into Love Talk Café, quickly spotting the Dreamies in a small corner of the café that was surprisingly busy compared to the day before.
"Hey Lele, Sungie," Mark says, "Just in time, Xiaojun just served our drinks a couple of minutes ago. Don't worry, we already ordered your usuals for you two," the older boy smiled.
