"Jeno, why can't you just tell me where we're going?"

"Jeno, why can't you just tell me where we're going?"

"No! If I do, then where's the surprise?"

Though sticking to the friendship dynamic for the time being, Hyesoo and Jeno were extremely close in the past week. Their bond may have even been stronger than what it was in their highschool and college days.

Age sure does develop everything better.

"I can act surprised for you. I'm a very good actor," Hyesoo boasted.

Jeno snorted, "Yeah, right. Are you sure you're the same Hyesoo? Last time I remembered, the Hyesoo I know switched to music as an extracurricular in highschool because she sucked at drama."

She hit the man, who was right behind her, covering her eyes. "Shut up. Could you at least tell me if we're almost there?"

"Be patient!" Jeno jokingly reprimanded, "Oh, can you cover your ears for a bit? The sound may give away the surprise."

Hyesoo sighed and did what he said. After walking for a bit more, almost hitting what she presumed to be a chair, Jeno stopped the girl from moving any further.

"Okay. We're finally here. Are you ready?"

"Yes, sir," Hyesoo said, smiling at Jeno's excitement.

When she finally opened her eyes, the girl couldn't help but smile.

"Jeno... you didn't have to do all of this," She said, absolutely in awe of what she saw.

Hyesoo's eyes gazed over the little garden at her once university. The quiet and serene environment surrounded her, giving off a feeling of warmth and nostalgia. Hyesoo was in utter gratitude, her smile refusing to fall off her face.

He shrugged, "You've been stressed lately with your job, and I wanted to do something for you. Plus, I remember you saying nature was a stress reliever."

"Yeah, but bringing me all the way back to Yeonseo? You really didn't have to."

Jeno frowned, "Why? You don't like it?"

Hyesoo turned around and smiled, going over to hug the man, "Don't you worry. I love it. Thanks."

Jeno pulled away first, "Wait, there's more," He grinned, "I've got food!" The man walked over to the small garden table of his youth and plopped down the bag of fried chicken onto it. He turned around once again, looking over his shoulder at the girl. Jeno smiled and gestured for her to sit down, already going in for a bite of some of the chicken.

Hyesoo stood there for a bit, gushing. The sweetness of Jeno was something she hadn't experienced in a while, but it sure brought back memories. She walked over, sitting opposite the man, grabbing a piece of chicken for herself.

For a minute, she looked up at him, and it was like Hyesoo momentarily forgot the situation she was in, only being able to see Jeno. His black hair was disheveled for once, unlike his usual gelled back, corporate CEO style. His outfit was more on the casual side, which made her reminisce over his youthful image in college. The way his eyes lit up when he looked at his surroundings of the beautiful greenery, the way he smiles everytime he took a bite of his food, and how he let out a joyful giggle when a cool breeze would come through, sweeping his hair, were small points that Hyesoo couldn't help but focus on.

"You okay? You haven't eaten much yet," Jeno checked, concern clearly expressed across his face.

"Hm? Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry," She reassured.

Jeno nodded, patting the girl on her head while smiling as he went back to admiring the environment around him.

Hyesoo could feel her heart beating. She hadn't felt this way in awhile. Precisely, around seven years. Her cheeks slightly flushed a soft pinkish hue at Jeno's contact, and there was an old feeling that crept into her once again. It reminded her of something that happened in her past.

"Jeno, could you please tell me where we're going? Or maybe a hint, please?" The highschool girl asked, still being dragged across Myeongdong by her boyfriend.

"Well then that ruins the surprise. And who would want that?" He responded.

"Me. That's why I'm asking."

He chuckled, "Don't worry you're gonna love what I have planned."

She stopped in her tracks and turned towards the boy, "And if I don't, then what?" She teased.

"That won't happen," He smiled.

"Why not?"

"Because how could you have a bad time when you're with me," He smugly grinned.

The girl's cheeks turned pink at the stupidly sweet statement. "Shut up," She said, rolling her eyes while softly punching her boyfriend.

His gesture, his smile, his laugh, his kindness, his words. Hyesoo was reminded of all of that. She remembered his character, as well as why she first fell for him as a teenager. The girl knew exactly what was happening, and instead of cowering away from her emotions, she smiled at them. Something she hadn't done before.

She was falling again. And she wasn't intending to stop herself this time.
