𝟐𝟏 | 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞

"Why are you here?"

Jeno turned around, facing Hyesoo who had just walked out of her house. By the look on her face, it seemed as if she was a bit mad by the boy's sudden request, but he couldn't tell; after all, he couldn't focus on much except his frustration.

"Why have you been ignoring me?" Jeno asked. His sudden question made Hyesoo slightly shocked, and Jeno could see her eyes shaking ever so slightly by his fearful demeanor. The both of them stood in silence as Hyesoo took small breaths to compose herself. After a final sigh, Hyesoo opened her mouth to speak.

"I was ignoring you... because I felt bad. I knew what happened in the past affected you a lot, and after what happened on Monday, I thought you might want space. I guess I just didn't know how much you needed. I'm sorry," She sheepishly smiled after her response.

Jeno sighed and ruffled his hair. "It's fine," waving off her apology, "But, could you at least tell me something. Why did we really break up?"

Hyesoo looked up into Jeno's eyes. She could see a tinge of pain that was still there from the wound she had created a long time ago. However, if there was one thing Jeno could do well, it was mask his vulnerability when needed. But, she knew him better than others. She could see his pain no matter. And with that, Hyesoo knew she had to answer him from the bottom of her heart.

"I wasn't lying, Jeno. Have you seen the way everyone looked at you? Wherever you went, there were at least 5 girls all up your ass, begging you to give them your attention. "Oh, Jeno, great job at the game! Ahahaha, hangout with me for no apparent reason and drop your girlfriend!" How do you think that made me feel? I know, I know, I shouldn't have felt so insecure. I guess... I guess it got to the point where after hearing people telling me I didn't deserve you, I really believed it. I'm sorry, really. I should've told you my worries, but I thought your words wouldn't help and would just make me more scared of what's to come."

To say Jeno was shocked at Hyesoo's response would be an understatement. After hearing her response, Jeno looked down at the girl. Her hairs covering her face as she looked down, not bearing to even take a glance at Jeno. He couldn't help but sigh at her. "I appreciate your honesty, really," he said. This made the girl's head look up and into his eyes to see if he was telling the truth. He was which you could see by the sincere look in his eyes, and that made a small smile creep onto the girl's lips. "I guess it felt kind of silly to me at first, but I understand your intentions" he said.

"Thanks for your forgiveness," She said, an awkward smile on her lips. The two stood there quietly, unsure of what to say. "I- I'm just gonna go now," Hyesoo said, pointing at her house. She turned around and headed towards her front door.

But, something was missing inside Jeno. It was like he almost accomplished everything he wanted to do, but he was still missing something.

"Hyesoo!"

The girl turned around at the sound of her name, her hair swiftly moving with her motion, and her footsteps coming to a halt at her front door. She was met with the sight of Jeno running up to her. She gave him a soft smile, "Is there something wrong, Jeno?" She asked with a smile that shined bright like the stars of the night sky.

Jeno rubbed the back of his nape, a sheepish smile on his face, unsure of how to phrase his words. "I just... I just wanted to tell you. I mean, I hope you know that I um," He stuttered on his words. Hyesoo giggled at how cute she thought the boy was as he was speaking which made Jeno chuckle alongside her. She was patient, waiting for Jeno to speak. He composed himself once more before speaking again. "I just wanted you to know that I still like you. I thought it hadn't, but to be quite honest, my feelings never left. It was just reignited when I saw you again," he confessed.

He took a step closer towards the girl, "And, I was wondering, if you may or may not feel the same way." Jeno took another step closer which made Hyesoo take a step back from how close they were. She looked up at him. If he ever bent down ever so slightly, their lips would've touched. The close proximity made both of their hearts beat, but Jeno ignored his own because of his confidence. He had been looking off at Hyesoo's house, but before he asked his last question, he moved his head to make contact with the girl.

So, do you?"
