Yesterday.
That one word causes me to get confused all over again every time I think about it. Was Kayden seriously going to kiss me? Do I want to kiss him? Why the hell would he kiss me? He has a call girl in every city we visit and it all it takes is a text and he could be getting laid every night.
A lay. Is that all he wants from me? Because I'm convenient and around him 24/7?
"Ugh!" I exclaim, gripping my hair and collapsing onto my hotel room bed from where I was perched on the edge.
Ella looks up at me from her book with a cocked eyebrow. "You alright?"
And that just tips me over the edge. "Do I look alright? No, I'm not. I need to know how the fuck Kayden feels about me. It's literally about to drive me insane. He almost kissed me last night. I didn't tell you that. Well, he did and if you didn't come back with that ice pack, he would've and I have no idea what to do with that. I don't know!"
"Babe, calm down," she tells me softly, folding the corner of her page over and coming to sit next to me. "Tell me what happened."
"Well, you know yesterday how he hit his head on the wall?" When she nods, I continue. "Once you left, you could've cut the tension between us with a knife and then, all of a sudden, we were up in each other's space and if you hadn't come back, then who knows what would've happened. And now I don't know what to do."
She lets out a sigh and runs a hand through my hair, curling the end around her finger. "Shit. I knew there was something there, but crap, not like that already. But don't worry about it, okay? You didn't kiss so nothing really happened."
"I mean, our lips touched, does that count?" I finally confess, looking up at her with a slight frown. "And I felt everything. Every single little thing. It was like nothing I've ever felt before. Not with Matt, not with Alex. El, it was crazy."
She just smiles at me. "I think we need a little girl time," she says after a few moments of silence. She brings out her phone and video calls Chloe and Emily.
