Alex shook his head in disbelief. "I don't understand, how did you-"
"Let's save the reunion for later." Alek smiled and pulled out a staff with a stone dragon's head at the end of it. "Zander! Prepare for payback!"
"How are you even alive!? You're supposed to be dead!" Zander appeared right in front of us leaving Alex behind. He grabbed Alek by the shirt leaving them face to face. The force caused him to release me and I began falling to the ground. Just before I landed, Alex caught me in the nick of time.
He set me down and held me in place. "Wait here."
Looking past him, I thought about the other two demons, though they were probably knocked out, but what if they came for me again? I started only to be interrupted. "But what abo-"
"Trust me, I'll take care of them if they try anything." Alex looked me straight in the eyes. A promise. In an instant he was right up behind Zander.
Alek floated there as if Zander wasn't even there. How could he be so calm? I was unable to hear what they were saying, but Zander threw Alek down like it was nothing, his body filled with rage. Alex went for an attack from behind extending his claws out, but Zander stopped him by grabbing his wrist. Alek landed on his feet, catching himself. He yelled back up to him. "Is that the best you can do?"
As I stared at Alex and Zander, Zander was ready to break his arm off, but Alek grabbed both their arms, instantly pulling them away. He held out his staff facing Zander, and started whispering something underneath his breath. A green light started pouring out of the mouth of the dragon head sending a chill down my spine. If even had Zander looking a bit worried.
"Damn you!" Zander screamed, and backed away. That must've been something horrifying for even him to have to get away from. "Don't think that I'm through here! I'll be back!" A portal like the one before opened up behind him. He looked down straight at me, causing my body to petrify itself. Zander gave me a last, chilling smirk, and then...he was gone.
My legs gave out leaving me falling too my knees. Footsteps began to approach me...the demons. Lifting my head they both stood right in front of me, but I couldn't react. Right as they reached for me, both their bodies were split in two. A small sigh of relief escaped when I saw both Alex and Alek standing right behind them.
Alex leaped toward me throwing his arms tightly around me. "Thank goodness you're safe..." A small smile formed across my face as I slowly lifted my arms around him. My embrace steadily grew leaving us stuck like glue.
"Seems like we sure got a lot of catching up to do." Alek called out. As Alex slowly pulled away, he stood and faced Alek. Alek gave a huge grin as if nothing had just happened. "It's good to-" He stopped when Alex gave him a surprise hug. "Hey, what's gotten into you?"
"I can't believe it..." Alex sobbed. "I can't believe you're alive...here!" Watching them being reunited, made my heart take flight. Even as demons, they're still close, still able to feel.
Wrapping his arms around Alex, Alek formed a smile again. "Sorry to keep you waiting."

The three of us sat in Alex's room. Alex and I sat together on his bed, he had his arm wrapped around me holding me close to him while Alek sat on the floor in front of us.
"So, where should we start? My story or yours?" Alek shrugged.
"What did Zander mean when he said you were supposed to be dead?" Demanding, Alex got straight to the point.
Alek nodded letting out a small laugh. "My story it is then." He sat crisscross resting his arms on his legs. "Do you remember that day we became demons? How we were engulfed into that strange light somehow?"
