Why? Why did it have to come to this? I'd rather die than have to be forced to attack Alex. "Damned bastard!" I pushed through the pain my body was in and forced myself away from him. For a second, the pain drastically increased, and I groaned out loud. He took a hold of my wrists and pinned then to the ground over my head.

"You won't be able to resist me much longer." He narrowed his eyes a bit, and the chains sent shocks through my body's. This sensation...he's activating the chains, but this time they seem stronger. My body went limb, and all the tension disappeared. I stopped struggling, and gave in. Looking up into Zander's eyes, it was all that I saw. He smirked and placed his lips against mine, and my lips moved on their own, dancing along with his.

Though my body had a mind of its own, somehow my consciousness remained. I could feel his body against mine. It was as if I was pushed toward the back of my own mind. Trying so hard to fight back, my body just wouldn't respond to me. Resist, dammit!

He pulled away. "What a good princess you are." Zander stroked my bare skin under my clothes. For a split second, my body managed to respond with a slight tremor. Narrowing his eyes, he looked annoyed. "So you're still trying to resist."

An explosion went off and one of the walls was destroyed. My head turned over, watching as the rock powder circled the air. In the midst of all that, a tall figure stood in the middle. "Zander..." The air started turning red, darker and more ominous than I've ever seen. Alex was heated past his boiling point.

"Look who finally decided to make an appearance." Zander grabbed a hold of my shirt and pulled me up, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. It was sickening that I was unable to run away. "Too bad though, you arrived a little too late."

Alex appeared from the dusty screen. In his demon form, horns and all, his face was enraged. "I should've guessed you would've switched places with Nikki at the last second. Because of your damn stunt, my brother sacrificed himself for nothing! And now..." He shut his eyes tight for a moment and drew out his sword. "I swear on my life, this time I'm going to kill you with my own two hands, Zander!" Inside, I was crying out to him, calling his name, but my lips remained shut.

"My, who knew you'd get so angry. But hey, what can I say I'm full of surprises." Zander removed his hand and summoned a sword of his own. "I've got another surprise for you."

I was handed the sword, and I gripped it tightly in my hand. I could feel the weight of it, so heavy it hurt, but my body held it like it was nothing. I gained control of my face somehow, making a pained and saddened look.

"What are you doing, Zander? Leave her out of this!" Alex gripped his sword even tighter. "You can't expect her to fight."

Zander laughed hugging me from behind. "Oh I don't expect her to, but I am enforcing it." Resting his head on my shoulder, he whispered softly in my ear. "Now, go." Once he released me, my body thrusted forward at full speed, faster than I've ever been able to move. Could this have been from the demon blood inside me? At the last second, Alex held up his sword in defense. The two swords clashed.

"Serine, snap out of it!" He called out as I pushed the sword forward. I can't control my body...it's just too strong for me. My hand kept slashing at him leaving him blocking every hit. He narrowed his eyes for a moment and dropped his sword, standing his ground. My hand was already in motion and the sword made contact with his body slashing down his chest. It took an emotional toll on my body and became in sync with me. My eyes widened as I watched the blade cut him.

Alex took a hold of the end of the blade and pulled it out of my hand. My feet stumbled and he embraced me tightly. "I'm sorry...it seems as if I just keep letting you down time after time." As he whispered in my ear, my body became confused. Resisting, yet accepting. It struggled but not trying to get away. My body was trying to break free.

"Kill him!" Zander's voice roared inside my head, and I gripped Alex's shirt. Get out of my head! "KILL HIM!"

My fists started pounding at his body, losing control. Alex pulled away and held my arms at bay. "I love you Serine, you can't forget that!" He pushed his lips against mine, causing my body to go limp. I could feel his sweet tasting lips. As he pulled away, he looked into my eyes, his dark red eyes pierced through mine. "I'm sorry." Stop apologizing idiot... "I should just disappear.." Don't say that.. "..and then maybe I wouldn't have to keep letting you down." Stop...none of this is your fault! You're not to blame...

I suddenly gained consciousness of my own body, breaking through of Zander's control. But how? My body trembled. It felt like it wasn't even my own. A weird tingly feeling. Blinking a few times I stared back into his eyes. A smile began to form on my face. "Alex, I-"

He smiled in return. As Alex wiped the tears from my eyes, he kissed me softly. "Welcome back."

I bit my lip. "Why did you say those things? I never thought any of that!"

"I know that you would never think that way...which is why I said those things. I wasn't sure it would work, but you managed to fight against your will, and overthrow Zander's control." He released me and took a hold of his sword again. "Honestly, I'm not sure how you managed that, but I couldn't watch you in that state."

How did I manage to pull back? Could that demon blood have made an impact and helped me fight him off? It was Zander's blood after all...so could it have been...

"You managed to break free of my control." Zander started to approach, and Alex stepped in front of me. "Now how did you manage such a thing? That body of yours isn't that of an ordinary human, and on top of that, it hasn't even submitted to becoming a demon either. So what exactly does that make you?" His words made me tremble. He's right...it makes no sense. How was my body able to take all this chaos in and still be standing like this? Though that pain inside still hasn't faded, I'm still standing...

Zander grinned and charged forward. "Very interesting indeed!" Alex held out his sword and Zander took a hold of the blade. "How about a battle to the death! This girl will be the prize for the winner. What do you say, Alex?"

"You can't have her!" Alex swung his sword and Zander jumped away. "Id rather die than to leave her in your hands."

A black glow emitted from Zander's body, and he laughed. Getting fired up, his grin spread across his face, and he stared at Alex with fire in his eyes. "Then it looks like you'll have to kill me before I kill you."
