That image of Alex and Zander appeared again. The middle still blurred out. Why can't I see clearly? It was as if that time was just a fluke, that I'm not meant to know what this means. But I have to know! Why can't I remember what I saw that time? Damn, it's so frustrating!
My head began to ache, and the image began to fade. I felt my arm thrust forward as if to reach out for it, but it was pointless. Once it disappeared, my eyes shot wide open and I realized my body was cold. My body shot up and I felt a loss of air for a second, breathing heavily. Alex's touch calmed me down a bit, making me feel reassured that he was there. "Serine, are you alright?"
Shaking my head, I gave a response. "I don't know. I saw another image, but I couldn't see it all clearly. I've had it before, and I was able to see it, but..." I groaned from the pain my head was emitting. Those chains really took a toll on me. I can still feel those shocks in my neck and wrists.
"What was the image?" Alex asked as he lifted my chin.
"It was of you and Zander." I closed my eyes for a moment after I mentioned his name. "It wasn't quite clear, but I could see him smiling, and you...you looked like you were in pain."
His voice wavered. "I see." That just made him worry even more I bet. "Serine, I hate to ask, but what did Zander say to you this morning right before he disappeared?" I had almost forgotten about that. Just the very thought of it made my entire body shake.
I hesitated before giving my answer, and took his hand gripping it it tight. Alex narrowed his eyes a bit at me. I swallowed hard. "He said he, has something else planned, for everyone." I didn't want to mention that last part. It was revolting.
"What the hell could that bastard be scheming now?" Alex said to himself, cursing Zander's very being.
"What happened to Alek and Nikki?" I asked breaking his path to anger.
He sighed. "Alek and Nikki are out at the moment. They should be back soon, but when they do, Alek and I will be heading back out, but Nikki will stay here and watch over you.
I don't want him to leave, not now. "Where are you going?"
Alex shrugged. "I can't say. Alek never told me the specifics. That's all I know about it." So even he doesn't know. I wonder if Alek planned for the two of them to attack Zander head on, even now I can't be sure what's happening anymore. Even if he told me, I'd probably still question it though it isn't my decision. My forehead was flicked causing me to lose my concentration.
"What was that for?" I rubbed the middle of my forehead where I was flicked.
"You were lost in thought. Also, it's a reminder not to worry so much." How could I not worry though? Lately every thing has been a complete mess, one thing after the other. "I know you're scared and worried, but that's ok." He placed his hands on my cheeks, and I wrapped my fingers around them. "I'm right here. I swear, I will free you from this nightmare." He kissed me tenderly. His lips so soft with such a sweet taste. I pushed my lips up against his. This feeling of such bliss, I never wanted it to end. But of course, it was inevitable.
A knock sounded at the door. "Alex, it's time." Nikki's voice came into play, and Alex slowly pulled away placing his forehead against mine.
He gave a small smile. "Wait for me." Smiling in return, I nodded, and he backed away. "I leave her to you."
"Yea yea. Just get going already." Nikki directed. And in the blink of an eye, he was gone. "So, you seem to be better considering the toll your body just took." She crossed her arms giving me a stern look.
