Brian POV

This morning I overslept and saw my wife's eyes for the first time in about two weeks or so. I have been extremely busy with remodelling the Blacks incorporated resort that I haven't been spending time with her nor did we talk much during this time. I hope she understands because I explained it to her. Just as this is over, I'm taking her on a weekend getaway where it's all about her. I have been leaving early in the morning and when I return late at night she is asleep. I don't expect her to wait up, on me but there is a little strain on our relationship because I'm not getting to spend time with her as I like. I'm attempting to complete all my workload, aiming to be on top of things. I don't have my grandfather here to cover my ass. I don't want to let him down so I'm giving this, the best I can.

I know this can't be easy on Jinette, it isn't on me. I just want this to be over, I want to spend my time with her but the Blacks have been so demanding that it's taking up all my time. I'm finding it a little difficult to manage my time at the company and spending time with my wife. Not to mention the alliance with JR restoration had me out every weekend as well.  Additionally all my other workloads I'm marketing with. Topping it off with the day-to-day functioning of the company. I'm not complaining I love what I do but I have a wife at home now and I don't want to add any unnecessary drama to my life at this point. There is so much on my plate right now. Before I became a husband, I didn't have to worry about going home early or checking up on anyone. Jinette is a big girl and she will be alright. It's only a few more days and then we can spend some time together.

When I told Jinette good morning, her eyes looked sad, I saw real hurt in them. I don't know why we didn't have any fights or misunderstandings. She would always talk to me but I felt it different this morning. I had so much work to get done, I didn't push her. I let it go, she knows my workload with the client, If something is bothering her, she knows to come to me anytime and about anything. when I exit the bathroom she wasn't there. Normally she would be asleep, I would kiss her forehead leaving for work.

I inquired about her whereabouts from Rossie.

She told me Jinette was in our home gym. I never saw her use the gym before. I don't know maybe it's just me but she looked sad or she's still adjusting to married life.

"Earth to Brian, earth to Brian."

Sean's voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"What's up man, I've been calling you for a while now."

"It's nothing, I was just thinking" I explain.

"Well if nothing have you all caught up like that, I don't want to see when it's something." He banter.

"You got me. I don't know man somethings up with Jinette." I sigh. I know it's something.

"All these late nights and early mornings can't be easy on her Brian."

"I know but I talk to her about this project and I'm planning a weekend getaway when this is all over so I can give her the attention she needs."

"You sure she understands the late hours."

"Yes, I explained it beforehand."

"How Cindy handles it."

"She at her mom with Steph, if she was here she would scream my ears off, you know how she gets."

I chuckle at him I know all too well. One time Sean and I were working late she barges into his office with a baseball bat saying she will beat all the hoes in the building because one of them taking her man's attention. She's a tat crazy. I laugh to myself.

Jinette is quiet until she's provoked. I see a little temper but Cindy is crazy and extreme all the time.

"I don't know how you do it man" I confess.

Jinette is the complete opposite of Cindy maybe that's why they get along so well. I remember when I introduced them they instantly clicked.

"Let's get back to work. I want to make it earlier than midnight like I've been cutting it the past weeks," says Sean.

As the day progress, we were on track just as we were wrapping up Mr Black PA calls with another adjustment.

"I promise I'm not taking another contract from the Blacks," Sean spoke up.

We sit back down and continue trying to meet their demands. We were so lost in meeting the deadline, we didn't realize it was midnight and my eyes couldn't focus on the screen any longer.

"I'm done for the night," says Sean as he rubs his eyes.

I shut down my screen, get up and walk into the bathroom leaving Sean and our PA to pack up.

When I return Jill had my phone in her hand.

"Your wife called twist," she says.
"I answer the second time she rings but she cut the call."

I take my phone dialling Jinette but she didn't pick up, I ring her three more times still no answer. I decided to call Rossie. She answers on the second ring.

"Rossie sorry to call you so late did you go home or are you at my house."

"I stayed over sir, something is wrong with madam."

"What do you mean something wrong, Rossie."

"Madam has been crying most of the day. When I ask her what's wrong she said she having a headache. She didn't eat breakfast, lunch or have her dinner"

"WHAT!" I shout. "Why didn't you call me?"

"Madam told me not to call you, she stayed in her room most of the day."

"Where is she now?"

"She's in the living room still crying."

"Ok, Rossie I'm on my way." I hang up.

"Is everything alright with Jinette," asks Sean as soon as I cut the call.

"I don't know man, Rossie says she's having a headache."

"Hurry home, make sure she alright."

I bid good night to Sean and Jill, lock my office exiting the building. I kept ringing Jinette but she never picked my call.

I get into my car driving off I hurry to get home to my wife. I know somethings wrong with her but if she's sick why didn't she call me or better yet call the doctor.

I speed down the road hurrying home to her. It's so damn late for this.
