"Is he coming or not?" Michael groaned from the couch. We were sitting at Michael's waiting on Ashton to show up for band practice.

"He's still not answering his phone," Calum shrugged. I continued to strum my guitar, while we continued to wait.

"It's been an hour!" Michael was aggravated and decided to call Ashton himself. He stormed to the kitchen, probably getting something to eat. "Ah!" He screamed into his phone when it went to voicemail. I'm sure Ashton will love listing to that.

"Luke," Calum nudged my leg with his foot, "you okay?"

"Fine," I lied.

"You sure? You've been acting kinda funny these past few days. What's going on?" Did I want to talk to my friends about what's going on? Of course I did, but After Calum found out about the plan with Kaytlin she's been a touchy subject around him. Michael would yell at me about fucking up the plan, so I couldn't tell them how I kissed Kaytlin and she rejected me!

"I'm here! I'm here!" Ashton ran in, drum sticks in hand, "I'm here! Let's practice!" He ran past us into the garage.

"Was that the little shit?" Michale came out the kitchen, hurrying after Ashton, "hey! Did you lose your phone? Why are you so late?" Me and Calum grabbed our instruments and went after them. At least their heading towards the practice area.

"I got stuck at work," Ashton sat behind his drums, making sure they were ready to go.

"That's not your uniform," I commented. Calum elbowed me.

"I went home and changed," he tapped everything twice, before cracking his knuckles.

"So you had time to change and you couldn't cal and tell us you were going to be late. Unbelievable," Michael continued to complain. He tossed his guitar strap over his shoulders, doing everything aggressively.

"I'll buy you pizza after this. Would that make it better?"

"All is forgiven!" Michael ran his fingers over the guitar strings for an amp check. He looked over at me and Calum, who still hadn't done a sound check, "what are you two doing?"

We played some of the songs, making little changes here and there. After that we sat down, and read over a new one Calum's writing.

"Is it for Elizabeth?" I asked, reading over what he had of the love song.

"Yeah," Calum blushed.

"Aw, that's adorable. Don't tell Crystal," Michael took a bite of a sandwich he had made.

"Dude when you gonna write her a song?" Calum got up and got a drink out the fridge.

"Excuse me sir," Michael put his hand on his chest as if he was offended, "some respect! I'm written her serval songs. I just need to write her a new one."

"Does Kaytlin get two songs," Calum made the smart remark to remind us that we were still assholes. Once Ashton was sober he got the same lecture me and Michael did. Calum didn't talk to us for at least a week. When he did eventually talk to us he was snappy, but we deserved it.

"Calum," Michael sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I am, writing her one actually," music was the only way I could truly express myself. Kaytlin was impressed with my writing when I did that report for school, so writing her a song seemed like the right move. At least I thought it was.
