"This is insane!" Alexis laughed. Me and her had been sitting in her room talking since we arrived at Uncle West's house. "How did we have no idea we were related," she shook her head still in shock.

"Beats me," I shrugged.

Things hadn't settled down. Daniel was still stuck between anger and sympathy. He informed me we would talk about everything later. Liz told me not to worry about him. She was simply happy I was okay.

And then there was Luke.

One minute he was overjoyed to see me. The next he seemed to be shutting down and distant. His behavior really confused me, but I chose to overlook it. He was here, for me that's all that mattered.

"Alexis!" Her stepbrother Parker walked into her room. Luke followed behind him.

At first Parker and Luke weren't really getting along, they weren't not getting along, but there was tension there. That is until Luke found out that Parker played FIFA. They've been playing the video game up until now.

"What do you want?" She cut her eyes at him. Her voice was sassy. She was smirking. Parker was smirking too.

"I need you to come help me with something," he nodded back towards the hallway.

"And what's that?" She sat up a little straighter, throwing her legs over the side of her bed.

"I'll show you. Come on," she silently questioned him, but didn't argue. Alexis walked out and Luke walked in. Parker nodded in Luke's direction, closing the door behind him.

"Can I help you?" I folded my arms over my chest.

"Why are you so grumpy? You took a nap!" Luke scoffed, making his way over to me.

"You weren't there when I woke up," Luke was helping my dad move boxes when I woke up. I wasn't actually mad about it, I just wanted to give him a hard time.

"Oh," he stood beside me, "you're not grumpy, you're just pouty. I can fix that," leaning down, he grabbed me by the throat, pulled me up to his level, and kissed me.

I gasped as his lips moved against mine. Though it was a feeling I very much enjoyed, Alexis and Parker could walk back in at any minute. "Luke," my words were muffled by him. Gently, I pushed him back, "what's gotten into you?"

"I've missed you very very much," he shrugged, I smiled. His thumb ran back and forth over my cheek.

I cupped his hand with mine, nuzzling into his palm. How did I make it without his touch? He sat down beside me, his arm draped over my shoulders, our hands knotted together. My head rested against the side of his neck, taking in his smell. "Still think you could love me?" I asked for reassurance.

"Mhmm," he hummed, nodding. "I was a wreck without you woman," the tip of his nose rubbed against mine, "you help me think. You make me a better man."

"If you missed me so much why did you ignore me?" The question wasn't supposed to upset him. He had to know I was going to ask.
