More of a blurb, but I hope yall enjoy :)
My eyesight was blurry as I opened them for the first time in hours, adjust to the darkness of the room. My attention was pulled to the rustling at the other side of the room, the cause of me being awake.
"Baby?" I muttered, my arm going to the empty space beside me. "What are you doing? It's 4 in the morning."
"I'm sorry, but I have to go." He whispered, walking over and pressing his lips to my forehead.
"No. You just got back to me last night"
"Babe, I have to."
"They can send someone else." Tears started to fill my eyes. "Please stay."
"(Y/n)," he sighed, letting me pull him into an embrace.
It feels like I don't even know him anymore. He's always gone, and I miss him so much. I miss his laugh, his touch, his kisses. Him. I miss him.
"Stay, stay for me, please just stay," I cried into crook of his, wrapping my legs around his waist.
I heard a deep sigh fall from his lips. He sat on the bed and situated me into his lap.
"Don't cry, baby doll," he whispered as his hand buried itself in my hair. "What's brought this on? I go on missions all the time and you've never reacted like this before."
"Exactly!" I pulled away to look at his face, "You're always leaving me!"
This seemed to shock him into silence. I could tell that my words hurt him, but it had to be said. It was true.
"Don't you miss me?" I asked after a moment of silence, more tears streaking down my cheeks.
"Of course I miss you!" He told me with a stern voice, "but we both knew what we were signing up for when we entered this relationship."
"That doesn't keep me from missing you."
Sam cupped my cheek and wiped my tears away with his thumb. He stared into my eyes for a moment before finally his lips connected with mine in a soft, slow kiss.
"I'll make you a deal," he said as he pulled away, "I'll make a few calls and see if they can do this thing without me, and if they can't, I'll tell them I'm taking some time off afterwards."
"A month?"
"Oh, baby, I don't know if I can wrangle a month out them," his laughed boomed in the quiet room, "but ill ask. The most I can guarantee is probably two weeks."
A small grin grew on my face at the sound of that laugh. His laugh.
"Promise?" I held up a pinky.
Sam stared at my hand in amused before finally locking his pinky with my own.
"Promise." He winked. "Now let me make those calls."
