She leaned against the collapsed building and watched as bombs blew up across the city. A lit cigarette hung loosely from her lips as she scowled at the sight. It's been like this for about ten years now. The world was taken over by a team of 'Super Villains', and the Avengers suddenly disappeared. Not even putting up a fight.
"The team of Super Villains have taken over about half of the U.S. and taken down the Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force. The Navy is fighting along with the coast guard and the Army is doing what they can but it seems they aren't doing much." The news reporters voice yelled through the mic. She was standing outside as it poured the rain and people ran chaoticly in the streets. "But the real question is where are The Avengers?" As the question left her mouth the TV flashed off.
"What's going on daddy?" She asked as he picked her up.
"We have to go honey," He responded as he clutched me to his chest. There was back pack on his back and he also had her small pink one. "Its too dangerous right now."
They ran outside to see an army of people wearing dark uniforms shooting at everyone they saw. They ran as fast as we could but something hit her father. As he slowly made his way into a big tunnel under a bridge he set the girl down.
"Run and don't look back. Don't let them take you." He choked out as he coughed blood out of his mouth. She nodded as tears streamed down her face and hugged his dying body.
She shook her head at the memory of her father. It's their fault she was orphaned. Now she's going to make them fix it.
She was five when the world was taken over. She stayed with her father's body for 30 minutes before doing what he told her to do. She ran and she didn't stop. She was built herself for a few days when an old man found her in the woods. After hearing what happened he took her in and raised her. He died when she was 17.
So now she is on a mission. A mission to find the Avengers and fix the problem they caused. She's been searching for three years now, she started after the old man had passed away, and she's finally gotten a solid lead. A lead that will take her to Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man.
She let the cigarette fall to the ground as she pulled her hair into a helmet and jumped on a motorcycle.
It took her about 45 minutes to reach her destination, but finally she arrived. In front of her laid a small, run-down house with a porch out front. She hung the helmet on the handle bars of her bike and cautiously walked towards the house that was in the middle of nowhere. Once she got to the front door she raised her hand to knock on the door three times.
"Nobody's home." A gruff voice called out. This caused her to glare at the door and knock three times once more, this time much harder. "That means go away!" The door swung open, revealing the man that she had been looking for for so long. She could see the light shining through the shirt on his chest. His face now held a bushy beard and he was covered in sut. He wasn't the Tony Stark she remembered as a young girl.
"Well, I'm sorry to tell you that I won't be going anywhere." She muttered with a stern look on her face. Tony squinted his eyes in her direction.
"And who might you be?" He asked quietly as a woman came behind him and placed her and on his shoulder. The girl could only assume that this woman was Pepper Potts.
"Doesn't matter. What matters is that you are going to fix the problem you and your team caused." She answered as she looked at them with hateful eyes.
"Oh, and how is this our fault?" His face began to fill with rage and his knuckles turned white at the force we was holding the door handle.
"You did nothing to stop it." Her words hit him like a bullet. When the event had happened he hadn't fought in years. The villains killed all of the previous Avengers replacements and the Avengers did nothing about it. They stayed in their hidden homes like cowards. "You were heroes and you did nothing!" She screamed, finally letting her emotions take over.
"Once we were heroes," he spoke softly, "But everything has changed since then."
"I don't care, because you're going to call the rest of the Avengers and you're going to kill those bastards!" She yelled as she pushed him roughly.
"Kid, even if I could contact all of them, what makes you think they'd come?" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I don't know. Hopefully they're good people." She breathed out as tears ran down her tanned skin. He stared at her for a moment, obviously in deep thought, before moving from the doorway and pulling her into the house. While run-down on the outside it was most definitely not that way on the inside. She hadn't seen a place this fancy since the take over.
"I know," Pepper chuckled as she looked at the girls face, "Only Tony."
Tony then pulled out the oldest cell phone the girl had seen in her entire life, it had to be bigger than a brick. He dialed a number and quickly brought the phone to his ear. After what felt like years, he began to speak.
"Cap, you gotta get up here." His eyes drifted to the girl as she walked around the house. She began to go down some stairs. "Kid, stay outta the lab!" She jumped at his voice but moved to the couch.
"Stark, you know these are for emergencies. I'm not gonna help you with some random kid." Steves voice mumbled through the phone.
"That's not what I'm calling about." Stark rolled his eyes mockingly. "We are gonna take our world back."
