The little girl sat on the back of the train, she'd been there for hours. Many avoided sitting next to the young girl who was covered in dirt and wore old, torn clothes.
Her mother sat her there this morning, saying she would be back in only one minute, saying that she forgot a bag in the station.
Now, the young girl wasn't stupid. She knew something was wrong when the train moved. She knew something was wrong when she didn't show up at the next station. Now she's states away from her home and doesn't know what to do. She clutched onto her small stuffed animal, that being the only thing her mother left with her.
She watched with curiosity as new people filed onto the train cart. This time only four people came on, but only one caught her eye. A man dressed in all black with an eye patch over one of his eyes. As the train started moving she still watched him with big eyes. Finally she jumped off of her seat and went over to him, tugging on his sleeve. His one eye fell to hers and immediately he felt pity for the small girl.
"What do you do, mister?" She asks with furrowed brows, taking in his appearance once more.
"I make bad people go away." He told her with a slight smile. This caused a wide smile to grow on her face.
"Does this mean you help good people? Can you help me, mister?" Her wide eyes held hope.
"Of course I can, I gotta know your name first." He answered.
"(Y/n)." She giggled, "My mommy left me here and I don't know what to do." She whispered to him with sad eyes.
"Well, (Y/n). I'm Director Nick Fury. I'll help you find a new family." He felt a sad smile grow on his face as the girls face lit up.
Little did they both know that she had just found her new family. Fury took her with him when they left at the next station. The first thing he did was try to track down her mother. It took a few days, but finally he had learned her fate. After leaving her daughter on the train she had been found a few miles away, after she had jumped off of a bridge.
Against Coulsons advice and wishes for the girl, Nick decided to keep her. He knew that that would make her a target and a weakness to him, but he also knew that he could take care of her and give her the love she needed.
