"Wake up, sunshine!" Her father knocked on his daughter's room door. "Don't you feel defeated that I woke up earlier than you?" He jokingly asked through the door.

Five minutes had passed and the door to her room didn't open so he knocked again before entering the room. "Tsk tsk, what am I seeing here? Are you back on your middle school days again? Why's it so dark in here." He turned on the light and there was a long chunk of Daigo's sleeping body rolled on a blanket.

Her father remembered that he saw on today's weather forecast that the whole week will be cloudy to rainy skies, he knew that his daughter has a tendency to get comfortable whenever its rainy or the weather just being cold in general. Though it was a disadvantage to his daughter when she was in school, she ended up rushing everytime when she wakes up late.

He laughed at those times, where his daughter was the liveliest in her teenage days, studious but still carefree. He still had to thank her for giving him the opportunity to land a job to add some money to their family savings. That's why he was wearing business casual clothes right now and is headed for his work.

"Wake up, psst." He used his feet to repeatedly kick the mattress of her bed, making it wobble till Daigo got annoyed and sprung out of bed with pillow in hand, ready to hit her father with the pillow. "Pops! I was dreaming!" She whined.

Shaking his head, he karate chopped his daughter's head. "You have work, right? I had to wake you up because of the cold weather and you know what commonly happens to you when you remain asleep on a cold weather, right?" Daigo chuckled and nodded, "I tend to oversleep, I know. Thanks for waking me up though."

"By the way, glad to see you're back on your toes again, pops. Good luck at work!" Smiling, he gave a pat to her shoulder before leaving and going to work.

Her father got a job on April and its been going great for him ever since. Daigo was happy that her father was now ready to step out in the world again and be a part of it, instead of staying completely inside the house, mostly his room in the attic that he chose to room in for odd reasons.

The whereabouts of her mother was unknown as she left her own daughter at a young age, leaving all the responsibility to the husband. She wanted to know who, where, and why her mother left her, but as she grew up she didn't feel the need to ask or do anything to look for her. She was abandoned by her mother, that's it.

Walking up to the elevator of the building to go to her floor, she pushed the floor nine and backed into the corner. Only a few people came in, including him. She instantly noticed him just by how tall he is and how he usually looks, there's no way she can't turn her head away and pretend she doesn't see or notice him.

It's funny how they were close once, but because of an adjustment in the order of how things will work, everything suddenly became awkward for the two. Even if she wanted to approach the man, she suddenly freezes up and her words get stuck at the tip of her tongue, unable to say a word. She tried it many times in the mirror but she still can't do it.

The amount of people decreased floor by floor until it was only the two of them left. She was on the far right corner while he was on the left side. Awkward silence.

'Should I try and talk to him now? I mean, him and I are friends and are– were desk buddies... so why am I hesitating?!' Daigo had a mental battle while she quietly stood in the elevator.

Fiddling nervously with her fingers, she sneaked up some glances at the man and instantly looks away whenever she feels like he was gonna look back at her.
