Chapter 17

~Katie POV~

I'm so excited, I get to go back to camp and see all my siblings again!

But, one thing, I have absolutely no clue if me and Travis are official or not. I know I like him, and he likes me, but I don't exactly know what I am to him.

But anyway, the ride back wasn't too bad. Connor slept most of the way which gave Travis and I some time to ourselves, and it was really nice, and we might or might not have made out a couple of times, but we always managed to fix ourselves up before Connor woke.

But now we're back at camp, and we're all alive too so that's a good bonus, but I couldn't help rethinking the prophecy.

'Three halfbloods shall find what is lost,
There will be a praise or cost,
Sons of the thief and daughter of grain,
Shall join together for Olympus to reign.'

The only thing that was really unclear about it is the second line, we don't know what the praise or cost was.

I guess lord Hermes did give us gifts and praise but that didn't seem to fit it really well.

I shoved those thoughts out of my mind as I went to go greet my siblings.

"Sissy! Sissy!" My little sister Lily shouted.

"You're back! Look, look what I learned to do!" She willed the flowers to grow, a gift that most children of Demeter have, we can learn to grow plants to our will- to some extent- but normally you don't learn how to do it until your older.

I didn't learn to use my power until about 2-3 years back when I was angry so it was outstanding that Lily could do it at her age.

"That's great Lily! Can I have a hug?" I said.

She ran over to me and squeezed me tight.

"I'm glad you're back safely."

"Yeah me too."

"She's not the only one." Travis said sneaking up behind me.

"Travis! How many times have I told you not to do that?!"

"Katie Kat you know I can't count that high." He wore his famous trouble maker smirk that instantly made teachers hate him- the smirk that told you he was definitely up to something.

Thats when I realized how close we were, it didn't bother me at all, but right when we were about to kiss, Connor had to shout loud enough for the whole camp to hear.

"TRAVIS AND KATIE SITTING IN A TREE!" And then, right on que the Aphrodite cabin joined in.

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

"FIRST COMES LOVE! THEN, COMES MARRIAGE!-"

"THEN COMES A SON OF HERMES GETTING KICKED IN THE SHINS!" I shouted back, I know it didn't ryme but that was the first thing I thought of before Travis and I chased after him to the woods.

Connor and Travis were already quick on their feet, an advantage of being a child of Hermes, but little did they know that I had lots of experience running from monsters since I was a little kid.

Long story short my dad was always abusive so I ran away a lot, and before a satyr came to take me to camp monsters found me. I had no clue what to do so each time I just ran away. Until 5th grade a satyr named Andrew quickly became my best friend and noticed that monsters were finding me so he told me that he was a satyr-and showed me- then he took me to camp where I met friends, siblings, and the Stolls who pranked me the very first night I got there.

But back to the present, I quickly out ran Travis and caught up to Connor.

"Having fun?" I asked him.

"Gods how are you so fast?"

I pushed him so hard he fell to the ground.

"I think that's a story for another time." I replied.

By then Travis caught up to me.

"Nice job Katie Kat."

"You know Connor the next time you do something like that I will shove my dagger somewhere you will not appreciate it." I said.

"Okay okay I get it, next time I'll just have to be more annoying to make it worth it." He replied with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes at him, then Travis grabbed my hand and dragged me off to the middle of nowhere.

We sat down on a rock and he told me that he had something he wanted to ask me, without other people around.

And thats when he asked it. That one question that made my heart flutter, and my palms sweat.

"Katie Gardiner, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.

I got up and kissed him.

"Of course I will."

Then we walked off back to camp hand in hand.
