About 10 minutes in Andrew is already asking for a break. We stop at a tree stump where he sits down and devours a granola bar. "You want one?" He said. "I'm good. Thanks for the offer!" Then we hear the hunters coming so I step aside so I don't get trampled over. "I got it! I'll shoot it!" I hear one of the men say. Right before I sat done an arrow came flying through my stomach. "Cruse!" Andrew says running over to me. I start to fall to the ground, but Andrew catches me. "Say something!" I can't breath. I can't speak. I can move! So I just lay in his arms bleeding out. "Please don't go! I'm right here!" I manage to catch enough breath to say, "There's an emergency phone in my bag." Then I lose consciousness. When I wake up I'm Laying down on Andrew's car hood. Not long after waking up I hear sirens. "What's her name sir?" "Ava Cruse, Dr. Ava Cruse. We're both surgeons." "Ok, are you injured sir?" "No, I'm fine! It's her you need to be worried about. She just got shot!" "Do you know how?" I try to speak, but it doesn't come out right. "Mhh meh, mhh." "Shhh. It's okay Cruse, I'm right here!" Andrew says with tears in his eyes as they take me away in an ambulance. "Sir, what happened?" "There were these hunters chasing a deer around and I guess they thought she was the deer and shot at her. And looks like the guy has good aim, cause he got her!" Andrew just loses it. It starts breaking down into tears and the officer asks for him to take a seat on the ground and take 10 deep breaths. "We are going to have a look at the area. Will you show me where it is?" Another officer asks Andrew after he calms down. "Yea." He leads them to where I was shot. "Sir we're going to tape these grounds off as crime scene areas. Can you describe what the men looked like?" "Well there were three of them and-" "I'm so sorry we shot her! It was an accident!" A man says with two others behind him. "Do these look like the hunters that shot your..." "Girlfriend. She's my girlfriend and yes these are the men that shot her." "Ok, for now I need you guys to go in a cop car with me and go down to the station. Okay?" They all three shake their heads yes in agreement. I ended up passing out in the ambulance a couple times, but when I passed out the last time, I didn't wake up until I was about to go under for surgery.
