The nurse left a few minutes later and Andrew and I tried to sleep. Andrew stayed in the same bed as me because I didn't want him to go since I hurt so bad. He cuddled with me for the rest of the night. I kept rolling over and curling up in a ball. At around 12 I snuck out of his arms to go to the bathroom. When I came back I saw that he'd taken up the whole bed. I suddenly felt light headed. So I tried to make my way over to the guest chair, and before I could make it over there I collapsed. All my machines were beeping. Andrew woke up because of all the noise and looked horrified."Cruse!" He screamed, not caring about how loud he was. Nurses came flooding into the room. While a nurse went to get a crash cart Andrew started doing heart compressions on me. "Let me see your stethoscope!" Andrew screamed at a nurse. "We have to open her up. Her heart valve is tearing. Whatever mediation you put her on isn't doing any good for her heart!" Two nurses come back with a gurney. Andrew and another male nurse pick me up and put me on the guney. Andrew hops on top of me and starts doing more heart compressions until we get to the O.R where we had to shock me. "280...Clear!" shock! "Okay turn to 350...Cl-" "No stop! Her heart won't be able to handle it. You'll kill her!" "Fine, turn to 300...Clear!" shock! "Her heart is beating normal again. We can start the surgery. If that's okay with Dr.Corloah" The nurse said clearly annoyed. "Well I'm sorry I'm trying to keep my girlfriend. How the hell did you get your nurse's degree," Damn! "So if you don't mind, get the hell out of my O.R if you're not a surgeon!" I could tell from his tone he was yelling in a protective way. Nurses all around us left. No it was just Andrew and a few other surgeons I'm not familiar. The anesthesiologist puts me under and Andrew starts working his magic. Or he was until the chief of surgery came in. "What the hell you think you're doing Corloah?" "Performing surgery!" "Not on your girlfriend!" "There is no other cardiothoracic surgeon who took the training I did to do the procedure right!" The chief nodded her head and left the O.R. "Ok, let's continue." Andrew says a little shaken up. "Suction," Andrew says calmly. He's more relaxed now. "And now we're ready to close her up." Another surgeon stitches me up while Andrew scrubs out. I wake up 45 minutes later. Crazy thing was that it was still night. Well 4 a.m., but still. Before Andrew notices I'm awake, I try to go back to sleep. After 2 hours of tossing and turning I decide to "wake up". "Morning Cruse! How do you feel?" Andrew says holding flowers and chocolate in his hands.
