Good Morning Shock

We walked back to the kitchen hand in hand. We started to eat again. "What did she want?" Andrew asked annoyed. "She wanted me to be one of her bridesmaids!" I rolled my eyes. Andrew basically choked on his soup. "After what she did to you...no way!" "I tried saying no, but she wouldn't accept. I said I'd think about it, but I'm not, the answer's no." Andrew slowly nodded his head. "Can I sleep with you tonight? It's just that I'm so used to cuddling with you at the hospital and-" He's so cute! "Of course, you didn't even need to ask." I say as I put my dishes away in the sink. Andrew is right behind me doing the same. "Can you help me upstairs so I can get ready for bed?" "Anything for you Cruse." He helps me up the stairs and I get ready for bed. While that's all happening Andrew's turning off the lights downstairs. After I get ready for bed I hear Andrew call the puppies over to their beds so many times. "Lady, Tramp over here! You have to stay right here so I can go sleep with mommy!" He says. I stand at the top of the stairs watching Andrew chase the puppies around and try to get them to go to their own beds. "How about you bring their beds up here." The second the puppies heard my voice they came running up the stairs. "Hello my babies!" I said picking them both up and letting them lick my face. "Ok, I'm bringing their beds up!" He says as he carries them up the stairs with him. He sets them both in my room, close to the door so they can run out anytime they want. We both hop into bed and start cuddling. "Hermandez called today..." Andrew said, sighing afterwards. "That a bad thing?" I say rolling over to look at him even though it's dark in my room. "She wanted to know if we were able to come back next week." I just got home! Seriously! "I don't know what if a pain wave hits during surgery. I can't even make it up a flight of stairs by myself!" Andrew kissed my forehead lightly. "It's okay. I told her to give a little more time." I let out a long held breath. "Thank you!" I said burying my face in his chest. We fell asleep like that. In the morning when I woke up, Andrew was gone and the dogs had taken his place. When I woke up I got dressed and brushed my hair. Then the puppies and I went downstairs. "Good morning you three!" He says as he kisses me on the lips and pets both the dogs on their heads. They run over to their full dishes of food and start eating. "You ready?" "Ready for what?" I was clearly confused. "I want to take you out for breakfast!" I'm so excited. I hope we go to Cracker Barrel! "Oh my gosh yes!" His eyes lit up. He loves when I get excited. "Okay great! Where do you want to go?" Oh he's letting me decide. "I was thinking of Cracker Barrel." I also wanted to go because ours allows us to bring our dogs because they have a little restaurant for dogs. "Yes! And we can bring the dogs!" I can tell he's getting excited too. "Let me go get their leashes!" He says as he goes into our supply closet and comes out with two leashes. "I didn't even know we had those!" "Yea, I also bought them these harnesses!" He says pulling them out from behind his back. "Perfect! Maybe when we get back we could go for a walk!" I say as I look down at the dogs while Andrew puts their gear on. "Well they're clearly happy!" He says cracking up. "Their tails keep hitting me in the face!" We're both laughing. After we got the dogs all set up we headed to Cracker Barrel. "You look so hot in those jeans Cruse!" He says checking me out at a red light. "Thank you. I wore them just for you!" I say chuckling. "Good! I want everyone to know you're my girlfriend!" Oh boy. He probably has something planned. Typical Andrew! "Well don't make it too obvious or other girls are going to want you!" "Well they won't achieve!" Well that makes me feel better. "We are almost there!" "Yay! I can't wait for the dogs to see what it's like to be in a restaurant." Andrew smiles. "I bet they'll like it!" He says as he pulls into the parking lot. "Ok babies ready to get out?" I say in that voice everyone does with babies or dogs. "You seem happier with the dogs." Andrew blurts out as I get the dogs out of the back seat. "What do you mean?" I ask. "Like you're smiling more." Andrew says, giving me a demonstration. He shows me a cute picture of me cuddling with the dogs. "I went to check on you this morning and you were smiling in your sleep." That's adorable. "You checked on me?" "I always do. I want to make sure you're okay."  "That's sweet of you!" I say as we walk up to the doors. "Now wait here!" He says as he walks into the building with the dogs. I wonder what he's doing. I just wait outside patiently for him. "Excuse me, are you okay miss?" I look up. There was Gary and Mary! "Oh my gosh hi guys!" I say getting up and giving them hugs. "I'm doing fine today. Andrew is having me wait out here while he does something inside." The couple gives each other a look. "He's a keeper!" They both say. "He sure is! I kind of wish I could marry him. I know that's crazy because we just met, but I honestly could!" They both smile warmly. "Go for it!" Gary said. "Oh I don't think I'm ready!" I said giggling. "Ok, Cruse, I'm ready for you to come in! Hey Gary and Mary! How are you guys doing?" Andrew says as he holds the door for all of us to come in. "We're doing fine thank you, hope you're doing just as well!" Mary said as she and Gary walked past us and headed to reservations. Andrew led me straight to a table that had candles and there were pictures of me and him hanging up. There was a beautiful dark grey tablecloth with my favorite dishes on top of it. "And here we sit, my lady." he said, letting me choose which side of the booth I sat on. "Oh wow! I thought we were sitting at that table over there!" I said pointing at a small, plain, lonely table. "Oh you want to?" He said jokingly. "No, I'm good here at this booth." "Alrighty then!" He said all smiles. He seemed a little nervous. I was also wondering why this whole area was set up. We started to eat when Andrew slid out of his side of the booth and came over to mine. As he started walking over, my favorite slow song came on. And he got down on one knee. "Ava Elise Marie Cruse, I know we met only 6 months ago, and I'm just starting to fit into your house, but I can see you and me forever. I can see us having a family. A small one. But for now let's start with me, you, and the puppies. Ava Elise Marie Cruse, will you marry me?" I had a wave of emotions come through me and I was sweating gallons by the minute. I started crying tears of joy. "Yes!" I manage to say. He puts the ring on my finger and picks me up and starts dancing with me. Gary, Mary, Kendra, mom, Andrew's mom, my sisters, my niece, and so many others. "CONGRATS!" Kendra said running at me with a bottle of champagne. "Oh my gosh thank you!" I almost fell backwards because of her speed we rarely ever witnessed. "You know I still can't drink right!" I whispered into her ear. "It's for Andrew silly!" She whispered back. I slowly nod my head. "Congratulations sweetie!" My mom says coming to me with tears in her eyes. "Thank you!" I say giving her a huge hug. Then she went to her own table and started eating her breakfast. "I guess that conversation outside was a coincidence?" Mary says winking at me while Gary has a small chuckle. "Did you guys know?" I said hugging them both. "I helped him with the blazer and Marmalade helped pick out the ring!" Gary says, giving me his sweet smile. "Oh thank you!" I say giving them both another hug. After 20 minutes of hugs and congratulating us we finally sat down to eat. I took a bite of my hashbrowns and was shocked. "How are these still warm!?" Andrew shrugged. "I don't know, but that's impressive!" He says eating his food in shock too. After we ate our food we decided to go and visit my grandparents and tell them the good news.
