"hun, you have to let ashy rest," michael says softly as he runs a hand up and down calums back, "if he doesn't rest he won't be able to go home."
calum just shoves his face into michaels neck, and sobs. it was like tearing a baby away from its mother - calum could just not handle being away from ashton. it tore him back down. there was once again that feeling of being lost; of emptiness. calum couldnt handle it without ashton.
"we know, sweets," luke says, running a comforting hand up and down calums arm, "but he's safe where he is."
"i-i want ashy!" calum sobs, feeling anxiety swimming in his chest, "i want ashy!"
"calum, please, just breathe," michael says, looking to luke with a worried expression. its too late - calum starts to panic, and within seconds he passes out.
_
"he isnt doing good at all," michael says, and frowns when he hears ashton sigh. after calum passed out, they just tucked him into bed. they knew he'd have a headache when he woke up but there was nothing else they could do. they just had to let calum get through it himself, and once he woke back up they would try to comfort him as best as they could.
"that doesn't surprise me," ashton sighs, "it might be best to just bring him back and let him stay with me."
"but you need to rest," luke cuts in, "having calum there...ash, he would do nothing but stress you out."
"he's stressing himself out more not being with me," ashton says, "if he doesn't do fine for the next twenty four hours, just bring him back. i guarantee he won't be nearly as bad. i just wish he could calm himself, and relax."
"well," michael murmurs, "he's definitely got some separation anxiety. im sorry, ashton. we'll do our best to keep his head leveled."
"its not your fault. i should've known he wasn't going to take this lightly."
"it just shows that he also loves you very much," luke says, "and is just very worried about you."
"i know that," ashton says sadly, "which, that makes it harder to keep calum away from me. i love him to, so much."
"we'll call tomorrow," michael says, "and keep you updated with him on whether or not we bring him back. how does that sound?"
"that sounds fine to me," ashton says, "when we wakes up, tell him that i love him."
"we will," luke says, "now rest up because we both love you too."
ashton chuckles, "i love you both too."
they end the call, and then michael looks to luke.
"what are we gonna do with him?" luke asks softly. of course, he wasn't sure. there wasn't really any way to help calum just breath. well, there was one thing.
that one thing was ashton.
"i don't know, lukey," michael says, "i don't think there's a good way to distract him. calums just gonna cry the whole time, and panic, since he isn't with ashton."
"well...do you think it would be such a bad thing to take calum to visit him?" luke asks, "i mean, if ashtons decent enough...and calum could see that, maybe it would calm him?"
"it would also make him panic when we had to take him home," michael says, "lets just see how he's doing when he wakes up. if he feels bad, we aren't taking him tomorrow. if he keeps crying all day, we aren't taking him either."
"that sounds fine," luke says, then sighs, "i wish there was a way to keep calum calm and relaxed."
"me too," michael whispers, "i wish this doesn't steer calums progress, either."
"lets hope not."
