Traveling through the same forest a century later, Lucia could see the well worn trails that were frequented by man or beast. They even passed a simple earthen bridge going over the river with a dirt trail going from either end. They avoided the road though since Lucia was worried they'd run into bandits camping for easy prey like them. Along the way Lucia picked up a couple long branches that could act as make shift quarter staves for her and Aegis. Lucia used the chance to practice attacking and blocking while moving with Aegis. As the sun was setting they moved a bit away from the river and gathered what they needed to make a campfire. Lucia and Aegis also worked together to bleed and skin the giant racoon to cook for dinner.

The sound of sizzling meat on a thin stone slab over a crackling fire that kept them warm on this cold spring night accompanied the group. Lucia couldn't stop herself from looking up at the clear starry night sky with a waxing moon overhead. She looked for the familiar constellations and pointed them out to Aegis and Vicki when she found them.

"That's the big dipper and the little dipper. That's the north star. So that should be Cassiopeia the queen. I don't remember the lore behind her though."

"You named patterns in the stars?" Aegis asked curiously.

"I didn't name them. Our ancient astrologists did.  Before the reset a century ago we had huge bustling cities all over almost every continent in the world. We had metal vehicles that could travel for hundreds of miles in a day on land, sea, and in the sky.  We could talk to people from other continents, we had tons of different food to choose from every day, and our knowledge could be passed on through generations through little devices we held in our hands. We still had to study it and understand it ourselves though." Lucia explained and felt depressed when she realized she remembered the cost to maintain that life style.

"However, it came at the cost of destroying our own planet slowly with toxins being dumped into the world's oceans and into the sky, and even the soil. As well as caging and raising live stock capable of comfortably feeding the trillions of people in our country and others. Humans were basically raising each other as live stock, not to eat, but to make product from. Whenever a human was strong or smart enough, they would be pulled from the flock to be gotten rid of or turned into an elite that would help with managing the flock." Lucia hugged her knees and sighed.

"These elemental powers didn't exist back then, but the ability to visit worlds created by our own imaginations that followed strict rules did in various forms. Books, movies, and my favorite, video games. I could pretend to have powers, be someone else, and be somewhere else that was far more interesting than my real life. The strangest part to me is that it was a video game that caused the world to reset. The thing that should have had no ties to real life suddenly became real life." Lucia smiled wryly.

"Yeah I remember the big buildings towering into the skies. I just knew by instinct to avoid those places, though many brothers and sisters went there while fleeing from predators. I never really saw them again." Vicki added while shivering from the memory.

Aegis eyes widened from shock then he quickly recollected himself before anyone noticed his odd expression. He just stared at the fire in deep thought.

"Are you not curious Aegis? Since from my guess you would have been living when electricity and gun powder hadn't been invented yet." Lucia asked the unusually quiet Aegis.

"Huh? Oh, just trying to wrap my imagination around it. Sounds like something from a crazy man's delusions." Aegis chuckled awkwardly.

"I suppose, it would be hard to imagine. I can share images through telepathy though." Lucia said as she sent over pictures of an SUV, a sky scraper, and a cell phone. "We'd also been to the moon and other planets in the solar system, uh, I mean the stars, we've been to other stars that don't glow as bright. They are like our planet in shape, but they lack what is necessary for life to form their naturally. Like water, or certain gasses... I am just being confusing to you now aren't I." Lucia laughed awkwardly this time.
