{Aegis! Aegis!}

Aegis woke up to find himself in an unfamiliar yet luxurious room. He quickly checked his situation and found that there was someone sitting in the corner of the room writing at the desk. They looked back as they heard him stir. The curly blond hair almost seemed to glow despite the foggy surroundings blocking the sunlight. His usually sharp orange eyes seemed to relax as he looked at Aegis.

"Good morning young man. I apologize for taking you away while you were sleeping. I was just so eager to speak with you that I couldn't wait. My name is-"

"Anthony?" Aegis interrupted with disbelief.

"Lucius?" The King's face morphed into anticipation.

They stared at each other silently for a while as they confirmed the other's existence.

{Aegis?} Lucia's worried telepathic voice called out.

{I'm awake. I'm fine. I'll ask you to summon me if I need it.} Aegis quickly explained to Lucia.

{Thank goodness!} Lucia's voice sounded slightly relieved.

"..." Anthony looked like he wanted to say something but didn't know how to ask it.

"How did our oath get broken?" Aegis asked as he stared coldly at Anthony.

Anthony grit his teeth, "I was poisoned to death by the chancellor. He was the only one I didn't think was with the corrupt faction. He had been talking about sending the army to subdue you and I was against it. He gave into my persuasion at first, then later killed me off so he could take control. The reason my soul is here is because a necromancer trapped me into an undead."

"If that was true, they had an uncanny sense of timing. Our oath broke when I was stabbed from behind. Then my soul was sealed into an undead as well." Aegis explained and sighed.

"That's in the past. Now is our chance to rise again! This is a soul world that we have found our way into! We can increase the power of our souls and when we return to our world, then we can break free of those undead shackles! We shall get our revenge and right the wrongs of the country!" Anthony spoke excitedly while a fury raged in his eyes.

"A soul world?" Aegis looked up with surprise.

"Yes! This is a soul world used to trap souls of a newly awakened planet. These souls are then trained and refined to become slave soldiers of the Gods! However, our souls belong to a different planet so we won't be enslaved no matter how strong our souls get!" Anthony explained energetically, then calmed down as he spoke again, "I had been hoping to find you in this world. It's been fifteen years since I started looking and I've been here for seventeen."

"The reason you didn't find me sooner was because I didn't have a human body until a week ago." Aegis explained while smiling wryly.

"I see, then how did you get one?" Anthony asked with curiosity.

"A lot of luck and reaching tier 10." Aegis explained.

"What? You had already reached tier 10? Then why are you... You gave up your strength to obtain a human body?"

Aegis nodded.

"And you already reached tier 5 in a week? Incredible! I knew growth in this soul world would have increased speed, but this is incredible! How did you do it?" Anthony asked.

"I'm afraid that I can't tell you." Aegis shook his head.

"It has to do with your new oath then." Anthony glowered.

"..." Aegis sighed. "I didn't know this was a soul world. Still I owe that person my life and much more. Without them I wouldn't have come here." 'Nor would I be growing this fast.'
