The skeleton soldier knelt down in obeisance after the contract signing finished. It held a slightly dulled short sword and small buckler. Lucia let out a small sigh as she examined her new summon. If she hadn't found any summons worth keeping after the skeleton soldier, she would have had to wait a day to summon again. She didn't have any food, so she didn't want to risk waiting while bearing the pain of starvation. Lucia could only hope that whatever enemies they encountered from her on out wouldn't utterly destroy her little skeleton. After praying for her little skeleton she then proceeded to cast buff magic on it.

"[Blessing of a warrior] [Iron Claws] and activate [Aura of Beast's Might]" Blessing of the warrior increased all stats related to melee combat, divine claw increased strength, and the aura of beast's might increased strength and vitality. Vitality increases health and defense. The aura buff only works when her summoned creatures are within thirty feet of her though.

"My soldier, walk ahead of me into that tunnel please." Lucia gave her instruction and the skeleton soldier stood up and proceeded as directed. Lucia walked five feet behind it in case of traps. It only took another minute of walking to get to a crossroad that went from smooth stone to stone brick walls. The lighting was alright in these halls and seemed to come naturally from the ceiling somehow. There was a small room at the cross road with a pair of skeletons guarding it. Lucia let out a sigh of relief when she saw the first thing in the dungeon was skeletons. Her soldier could easily survive being hit by them for at least ten minutes with her buffs.

"Grab their attention my soldier." Lucia released her next order as they approached the small room. The skeleton soldier that was initially walking, broke into a run with its buckler in front of it and sword arm held down at its side ready to make an upward swing. Lucia got in range of the skeletons and started casting a magic missile at the same skeleton her soldier attacked. The skeleton broke into pieces as soon as her spell landed. The soldier without flinching changed targets to the other skeleton. Lucia thought about it and decided to see how the soldier would fight on its own. These seemed to be average skeletons, so she didn't see them as a threat to herself. She walked closer and observed as the skeletons mindlessly swung swords at each other. Her soldier's armor easily deflected a lot of the damage from the opposing skeleton. However, they weren't aiming for weak points on each other at all.

"Aim for the skull, neck, or spine." Lucia tried to guide her skeleton soldier. The soldier's eyes flashed as it changed its aim from the enemy skeleton's shoulder to the thin neck bone. The soldier cleanly decapitated the skeleton with that single swing. Lucia was kind of surprised that it could follow that command. In the game she could only tell it what to attack, not where to attack. While she was pondering, the soldier approached her and waited for further instruction.

'I wonder if he has enough intelligence to remember what I teach it? If so then he can become quite a decent fighter that doesn't just rely on base instinct.' Lucia started to feel excited about her little soldier's potential. She patted the soldier on the shoulder and said, "Good job." The soldier just stared at her. Lucia smiled wryly as she walked passed it to check on the remains of the skeletons. Creatures that haven't awakened a spiritual wisdom aren't capable of independent thought and just move based on instincts and simple instructions.

Other than a pair of rusty short swords and bones, there was also a small crystal in each of their skulls. Each crystal was grey and the size of a fingernail. Lucia inspected them in her hand as she tried to figure out what they were. She could feel a tiny amount of mana inside them, and another strange feeling that seemed similar to her soldier. 'Is it aligned to the element of death?' She guessed while shrugging.

"Can you use this?" Lucia asked her soldier and offered it one of the grey crystals. The soldier's blue flames in it's eyes grew excited, but it gently received the crystal from her and stuffed it into its mouth. Lucia watched as the crystal became a gas that merged with the fire in its skull. Alas, the energy in that single crystal was not enough to cause any major changes. Lucia shrugged and pocketed the other crystal as she then tried to decide whether to go left or right on the cross roads.
