"I was born to traveling merchants. The first ten years of my life were spent traveling with my parents and visiting different places. I met many different kinds of people as a child and I was happy with my loving parents who always made time for me. I believe I was born in a different world, because my world has records of magic existing for over a thousand years. We also had a law where children with magic potential had to go to school to learn to control it and understand the rules of using it. After I  turned ten and took the test, I was shipped off to the academy where I trained my skills as an ice mage.

In our country, we had religions following the major elements. However, there had been a deep hate and fear of the elements of darkness and death. Anyone discovered with those elements would be imprisoned, exiled, or killed. Earlier today I heard the Frost family recite a prayer that was from my home world. However, they recited the version that my friend and I submitted to the church when we were in the academy. It was rejected back then, but the point is... Only my friend, myself, and the clergy member who rejected it would know it.

My friend was the Crown Prince of the Kingdom I grew up in. I'm pretty sure he got close to me since I was talented and my family wasn't supported by any nobles. It was fine though, we had similar trains of thought and liked similar things. The only thing was, he liked to use the excuse of Noblesse Oblige to act like a hero in the places we traveled to. Then I would have to clean up after the mess he started... We made an oath to be brothers till the day we die." Aegis paused as a small smile of nostalgia appeared.

"One time when we were coming back from a diplomatic mission to a neighboring country, we noticed that the towns seemed to have a food shortage. We investigated into it and found it was because of rising taxes under the pre-text that we were preparing for war... Our mission was to negotiate with the neighboring Kingdom against war, and we had been successful. So, we thought once we returned with the good news to his Majesty, they could return the food to the people. When we told his Majesty; much to our shock, he said he would not return the food since it had already been used to reward others... Since it had come to this, the Prince and I used our own methods to gather food donations from the capital and sent it out to the poor villages. The Prince and I followed the deliveries under cover to see how the people reacted. Yet, before we even got a few miles from town, the shipment was stopped by Castle guards and ordered to deliver this food to the castle! The Prince and I tried to argue with them, and they let us deliver Just-One-Wagon-Of-Food!" Aegis grit his teeth in anger.

"We tried to talk to his Majesty again, and we were scolded for not even offering a portion of the donations to the Castle first! Later, the Prince found out that his Father was being manipulated by greedy nobles and religious leaders. We started to gather others to our side so we could deal with the growing corruption. However, the high taxation had already gone on for over two years and the people were starting to riot. I was forcefully enlisted in the army by his Majesty because of my high tier as a mage. I was given the power of an advisor at first, but all of my advice to help the people by giving them the supplies that they wanted and needed was shot down. Eventually, I was being used as nothing but magic bombardment on the rebelling citizens. When I refused to attack the citizens at first I was given physical punishments and imprisonment. They even resorted to threatening my parents business and lives if I still didn't fulfill my duty to the kingdom... None of the letters I tried to send to the Prince were ever returned, I doubt they were even received." Aegis eyes filled with sorrow as he continued.

"Wait, you couldn't use telepathy like we do through our oath?" Lucia noticed this.

"I believe you're a special case as a summoner. I didn't even know that summoners had telepathy, but it explains how they can control their creatures so well in combat.
