Chapter 12

"Now Amy isn't critical but she is hurt very badly, we can only assume that as the truck rolled down that embankment your wife gave no thought to her own safety and her injuries show that she must of been trying to keep her daughter as protected as possible,  I believe she was in this hospital when she was 15 years old after an almost identical crash, so she new what could happen.
Mr Borden your wife is in a coma due to head trauma,  she also has broken her left Tibia in her leg ,  cracked ribs, fractured cheek bone, and a Broken Nose.
I know that sounds a lot but she's not  in a life or death situation,  when will she wake up, I dont know, but she will be having more scans.
Would you like to see your wife before she goes to surgery".
"Yes please,  then my daughter".
"Okay, follow me please".

The RCMP  were trying to find Chase Powers but after he saw what happened to Amy's truck in his mirror  he thought he'd killed her and her daughter,  so he was now on the run.
They weren't sure what state of mind he was in so dispatched a car to protect the Nanny and Amy and Ty's children in case he tried to use them, the Officer had parked inside the Ranch out of eyesight.
It wasn't long before they were proved right when Chase Powers Truck drove into the Ranch.
He saw the Police cruiser and reversed out , driving off with the police patrol car right behind him.
The Police were now in pursuit and radioing to the switch board his location to see if they could cut him off or use a Stinger to blow out his tyres.

Back at the Hospital Ty was sat holding Amy's hand until they came for her, he had tears running down his face looking at the state his wife's face from the shattered glass and being knocked around inside her Cab.
He could Just imagine Amy grabbing Marion and holding her in a protective bubble as the Truck rolled down the embankment.
The Theater Nurses turned up to take Amy for some X-rays and Scans then to the OR where they would reset her Leg , nose and check out her cheek bone.
After giving her a kiss he went to see Marion,  she was also unconscious for now, her Broken Arm in a plaster cast but other than that she was fine, there were no cuts to her face which only confirmed what the Doctor said about Amy protecting their daughter.
Ty sent a message to Lisa telling her which room Marion was in and to come see her.
Ty was sat there thinking, then asked Jack,
"You'd better let Tim know whats happened ".
"We've tried Ty but there's no answer so we left a message on his phone  and we phoned Shane to tell him but he says he hasn't seen Tim for a few  months and his Mum is at work".
"Okay, well, We've tried to let him know so that's all we can do".
"How was Amy Ty".
"In a bad way Jack". Ty explained a bit more about her face and how she must of held Marion because as they could all see her face was clear, tears still rolling down his face, even though he wasn't Marion's biological father she was his Daughter and always would be.

The police were still after Chase Powers and had a Road block set up, as Chase saw it he gunned the powerful Truck right for the middle of the two cars and ploughed through them . He Just kept going,  eventually another car pulled off to the side but kept up with him   the passenger took aim and shot both his Tyres out on the drivers side. By the time the tyres had disintegrated Chase knew the game was up and finally stopped got out and lay on the ground.

Two hours later Ty was allowed to go and see Amy, he walked in and her leg was in plaster, her Nose was reset as well. The Doctor informed him that the scar by her ear was done by a plastic surgeon as the fractured cheek bone needed to be strengthened but she would hardly even know it was there, now it was a case of waiting for her to wake up as her brain scan was perfect.
Ty sat there holding her right hand.
Tim finally turned up unaware of what happened,  he hadn't checked his voice mail and wouldn't say where he'd been but did go and visit a couple of times.

Two weeks had past and Marion had woken up after 2 days. She remembered everything and told her Dad that "Mommy grabbed me and buried my head into her and held me so tight it hurt, but because Mommy did that she's hurt real bad Daddy".
"You know that your mom would do anything and everything to help keep you safe sweetheart, but she will be alright eventually okay".
"Yes daddy, can I see her please".
"If the Doctor says it's okay".
When Marion was told she could see her Mom she spent 4 hours laying next to her talking most of the time hoping she'd wake up.
The time soon arrived for Marion to leave hospital and Lisa offered to let her stay at Heartland for a while to help out but Ty gave Marion the final say as he wanted her to feel comfortable wherever she decided,  he didn't mind and in the end she did go to Heartland for 3 weeks and Lisa took her to see Amy every other day.
At the end of the third week of Marion's stay at Heartland she was visiting her Mom and Ty was there too, it was almost time for Lisa to pick her up when her and her Dad heard a little noise, they both looked at Amy and saw she was waking up slowly,  after about 15 minutes Amy opened her eyes and saw Ty and then Marion who was laying down beside her, Amy realising her daughter was alive and safe started crying putting her arm around Marion,  Ty Joined her on the other side and put his arm around Amy and they joined in with the crying out of relief  that Amy and mommy was back with them.
