39: "money"

Earth went back to the house. He wanted to be alone and made Kao leave. Kao didn't want to but Earth begged him to leave.

Earth told Camila and the bodyguard to leave the house. He really wanted to be on his own.

He walked all over the house remembering the times he spent with Tay. He thought he was trapped in that house. He actually had everything. He walked to the home office, opened the safe and took out the papers in it. There were a bunch of documents, some money and a letter for Earth. The letter came with a photo of them. Tay looked happy but Earth didn't.

The letter:

"I know you hated every single day we spent in the house. Sell it. Don't keep stuff just because I am gone and feel sad. I want you to know that you are the person I loved the most in this world. I want you to be happy. Go to him.

After I am gone, everything will become yours. The only thing I ask is to keep the company safe. I worked so hard for it and I know it isn't fair to ask you this but take over it. I want you to keep having a good life like I intended.

I'm sorry for making you go through miserable moments next to me. I know I did wrong but you were the only important thing in my life. Although you think I was a bad person, which I probably was, I ask you not to hate me. Don't curse me, don't regret becoming my husband. I wanted to protect you.

I love you Earth. I hope your life without me is full of happy moments and be free.

Earth cried reading the letter. He sat down on Tay's chair and didn't know what he would do with everything Tay had left for him. So much money, so many properties and the company.

He went upstairs to the bedroom holding Tay's letter. He laid down and cried hugging the letter and the photo. He was free but he didn't feel happy about it. He couldn't sleep all night.

The next morning a loud knock was heard. Earth went downstairs to open the door to a drunk Pat.

"What are you doing here like that?" -Earth said and Pat pushed him to enter leaving the door wide open.

"Why didn't you go the funeral?" -Earth said. Pat didn't even call Earth.

"We are rich" -Pat said holding a liquor bottle up.

"What?" -Earth

"We are rich! Tay left everything to us, didn't he?" -Pat said laughing and Earth got angrier and angrier every time Pat spoke.

"I AM rich" -Earth said making Pat turn around to look at him.

"I am your father! And I was Tay's father too! All that he had has to go to us" -Pat said. Earth realized in that moment that Pat didn't change at all. He only cared about one thing: money.

"Tay didn't leave you anything! He knew you were only a drunk" -Earth said. Tay never trusted Pat completely but he needed him. Tay protected him from Pat and now that he is gone Earth needed to protect himself.

"Don't disrespect me" -Pat said slapping Earth. Earth touched his cheek and realized he was by himself. He told everyone at the house to leave yesterday.

"Get out! Now!" -Earth said walking away from Pat.

"I want what belongs to me" -Pat said.

"Nothing belong to you! I was Tay's ONLY family! He left everything to me!" -Earth said. Pat walked closer to him but then felt someone pull him away.

"Are you drunk again?" -Kao said to Pat.

"You bring him here? You have no respect for your late husband!" -Pat said to Earth.

"Shut up Pat. Now leave before I get you out myself" -Kao said. Pat glared at Earth one more time before leaving.

"I told you not to trust him" -Earth said and Kao just hugged him.

"Are you okay?" -Kao said touching Earth's cheek. It was red. Earth just nodded and hugged Kao.

"What will you do?" -Kao said and Earth was confused.

"With what?" -Earth

"With what Tay left you" -Kao said

"I have been thinking about it and I will sell the houses, this one included" -Earth said. Tay had houses including the mountain cabin and a beach house.

"What about the company?" -Kao said

Earth pulled away from the hug.

"Tay had me study the company. He wants me to run it" -Earth said. Kao wasn't happy.

"You can sell it too. You don't need to do that. You haven't done anything like that before. I can take care of you" -Kao said. He really just wanted him to be with War and him. Taking over a company would require so much time.

"But I want to do this Kao" -Earth said. The company allowed Tay to give everything Earth needed.

"Earth. Please don't. War is waiting for you" -Kao said making a sad face.

"I will be with him Kao. I can also do this" -Earth said.

"What if I buy the company. I can integrated to mine so you don't have to worry about its state" -Kao said but Earth didn't want that.

"No" -Earth said.

"Why?" -Kao said but Earth didn't answer.

"Tay is gone, Earth. You can finally be with us without thinking about anyone else. You keep making excuses to not be completely with us" -Kao said getting upset.

"I will be with you Kao. I will go with you but that doesn't mean I can't work. I can take care of the company too. What is it that you want? For me to just be home waiting for you like I have always done?" -Earth said. He couldn't just be at a house waiting. He finally had the chance to work and be someone that can depend on himself.

"I just want you to be with us" -Kao said connecting his forehead to Earth's

"I will Kao. We will be a family" -Earth said and hugged Kao.

"I want to go with you" -Kao said but Earth was confused

"Where?" -Earth

"Jeju Island" -Kao

"This is something I want to do on my own. I will just be gone two days" -Earth said and Kao just sighed.

"What am I going to do with my dad?" -Earth was concerned about what Pat could do

"Don't worry about it. I will handle it" -Kao said.

"You should start packing. I will have someone come for your stuff" -Kao said. He wanted Earth to move in with them already.

"Kao" -Earth thought maybe it was too soon.

"What? We have been waiting for too long. It is time. I'll help you sell the house" -Kao said. Earth knew it wasn't fair to make War and Kao wait any longer. He agreed to what Kao suggested.

Kao had hired some men to help Earth put everything in boxes, he also packed what he would take home. Earth walked by looking at what he would donate, what he would keep and what he would sell. Earth would only keep the photo that came with the letter. He decided to sell the house with the furniture. Tay's clothes would be donated.

"Everything is ready. Lets go home" -Kao said. They finished very late. Earth was having a hard time getting rid of everything. He lived in that house for five years. It was Tay's only home.

Kao saw how Earth looked at the house before leaving. He knew it would be difficult for him but he needed to start his new life with his family.

"Come on" -Kao said pulling Earth. They got in the car and Earth took a deep breath.

They went for War to Fluke's house and hed home.
