30: "birthday"

"How is he?" Sammy asked Fluke. They were having dinner at Fluke's restaurant.

"He looks fine" -Fluke said.

"I wish I could go back to that house. I can't believe I left him by himself" -Sammy said. She begged Tay not to fire her but he still did.

"It isn't your fault" -Fluke said.

"It is" -Sammy would always feel guilty for what she did when she was younger.

"I hope he can be happy with Kao and little War" -Sammy said and Fluke nodded.

"We should go. It is getting late" -Jack said getting close to their table.

"Yeah." -Sammy stood up and hugged Fluke.

It was Wednesday already. Earth knew it was War's birthday party that night. He wanted to go but he didn't know how. Tay had a meeting with the man from the hotel tonight as well.

He took a shower and went downstairs to have breakfast with Tay. When he went to the garden patio, he saw his father sitting down with Tay. He hadn't seen his father in a long time.

"Good morning" -Pat said.

"Good morning" -Earth said. He wasn't in the mood to fight or do anything. Last night, Tay was aggressive again. He made so many marks and bruises that he had to wear a turtle neck shirt and some pants that covered all his body.

"Your father wants to spend the day with you" -Tay said and Earth just stared at Pat. It was strange that he wanted to spend time with Earth.

"Why?" -Earth

"We should go visit your mother. Tay said he would be out until late, maybe you can sleep over. You must miss your home" -Pat said. Earth just rolled his eyes. Earth hadn't gone to the cemetery to visit his mom in a long time too but going with Pat didn't make him happy.

"This is his home" -Tay said.

"He grew up in that house so that is his home" -Pat responded back. Earth eyes widened. He had never seen Pat contradict Tay. Tay glared at him but continued eating.

"You can stay with me only for today. You must get bored being here too.We visit your mom, get something to eat and do other things" -Pat said drinking his coffee.

"Bring him back tomorrow morning. I want to have breakfast with him to tell him about my meeting today. We might go on vacation after I close this deal" -Tay said standing up to leave. He kissed Earth and whispered to him "behave" and then left.

"Since when do you talk back to him?" Earth said trying to make sense of what just happened.

"You are still my son" -Pat said. His expression was different. Earth felt strange.

"You should wear something else. It will be a hot day today" -Pat said seeing Earth outfit.

"I have marks and bruises all over my body. I don't feel comfortable if I wear something else" Earth was honest. It wasn't like Pat didn't know everything Tay did to him.

Pat was silent. His look towards Earth was different. He was actually sad and guilty about everything. Seeing his son so depressed and looking like he was used to everything Tay would do was heartbreaking. Pat was blinded by all the money Tay would give him.

"Go grab a change of clothes. You will stay at home today" -Pat said. Earth stood up without even touching his breakfast and went to make a small bag.

They were driving to Pat's house or that is what Earth thought. They didn't take any bodyguards, Pat refused. Pat also made sure no one was following them.
