Chapter 2
Ibiki tensed, as he woke up to find he was not alone in his bed. Something far warmer than him was behind him, laying against his back. Very slowly, he drew the kunai out from his pillow, not sure what to expect. But looking over his shoulder, he gasped, dropping the blade to where it clattered to the floor.
There cuddled up against his back, was his nine tailed kitsune. Her churs rose like music in the air. Ibiki's gaze softened as he turned over completely. Letting the little beasty find comfort in his warm embrace. Her small body curling into his arms as he chuckled.
This was new. Yuna never liked physical contact before. She'd always kept her distance and enjoyed her personal space. He frowned, wondering why it might seem so normal to the kyuubi, even if she didn't fully remember.
He looked down at his daughter's sleeping face and couldn't help but relax. She looked so innocent and pure, nothing like the last time he'd seen her. When she was in her prison cell, chained and frozen in that small compact space.
The shinobi winced at the memory. She looked so heartless. So ready to destroy the leaf and everything she knew. The true nature of the kyuubi had shown so brightly in her demonic crimson orbs.
Thinking of which, those same glowing orbs were staring up at him. Though they held anything but hatred. Her pupils were nearly covering her irises and one could barely see her sclera.
“Morning Yuna.”
She gave him a small chirping noise, with a bright smile. “Morning Ibiki-sama.”
He chuckled at her childish tone, moving to sit up. She followed suit, leaping to her feet. She turned quickly, almost running into him. “What are we going to do today?”
The interrogator thought a moment, slightly wondering when the kyuubi had snatched one of his black t-shirts. The fabric hung loosely, revealing one shoulder as it fell near her knees. She looked up at him curiously, her ears drooped ever so slightly.
“I suppose we should go shopping, you'll need more than just one set of clothes. We should get some groceries too, while we're out.”
She nodded excitedly. “I'll go change!” With that the kyuubi dashed from the room, an old child adrenaline fueling her legs.
Again Ibiki found himself smiling. He'd missed the crimsonette so much. He wanted to ask her what she'd been doing all these years she'd been gone, but he was afraid if she tried to remember it might trigger something that would send her against them.
“Ibiki-sama! Come on!”
He was brought from his thoughts as he found the demoness once again in his room, now dressed in her normal dark blue robe and black pants. He was glad she hadn't seen the Akatsuki cloak she'd arrived in, there was no telling what memories that could have triggered had she seen it.
The interrogator sighed, pushing her out of his room so he could get ready for the day.

Yuna was zigzagging around all the different clothing racks, smiling brighter every time she found something she liked. Ibiki had a hard time keeping up as the kyuubi seemed to be using inhuman speed to get between the aisles.
If it wasn't for her red tails, he wouldn't even be able to see her going between the clothing racks. “Ibiki-sama!” The man nearly fell as he was tackled from behind.
He let out a slightly tensed sigh, stabilizing as the kyuubi held onto his shoulders, using the straps on his jacket as foot holds as she was in a crouched position. “Mah, Kyuubi found the clothes she wanted.” The girl said extending the clothes out over his shoulder so he could see.
